I checked after I first read butterfly's post, and again now. The extension was added in between.
It looks to me like a good first effort, but it has a long way to go yet.

Yeah, they need to have the player list with filters, and the little tools like buyout calculation.

The chance of a non-compete clause being put in the sale agreement would be 100%.

That capwages site looks like the bare bones of CapFriendly and is hopefully being built to gradually keep adding until it's just like it.

Puckpedia just needs to update it's UI and it will be a perfect replacement

An AI program that builds profiles of fictitious players with incredible stats that fools the Oilers into signing them.
I'd like to see that.

And the next time they win the draft lottery they'll end up selecting:

PuckPedia needs to completely overhaul its UI if it’s to be an even marginally adequate replacement.

I see PuckPedia is supplying contract status on Internet Hockey Database player profiles.
(Or maybe I just noticed it now).
IHDB is the granddaddy of hockey websites with a great user interface. Maybe more integration with salary information is a possibility rather than another stand-alone site.

I honestly can’t believe the nhl itself doesn’t provide this information on its website.

I am sure some people used to visit Capfriendly daily. Could drive more traffic to their website.

Had to share - nothing big, but had some interaction on the old tweeter last night with CapWages - owner(s) seems really cool.
After I gave them some love via the @UpsideHockey account, they dropped us a direct msg appreciating it and stating they really enjoy what we're doing with the awesome content, so CP's own @Sandman deserves a lot of credit for this.
We don't do the Upside stuff for any accolades but pretty cool to get that feedback.
They also said to keep in touch as maybe there's a potential collaboration in our future. Who knows. I'm just glad we got a legit friendly option to CapFriendly.

I wouldn't be surprised if the teams don't want that.
"I invested 100's of thousands or millions into my own analytics for a competitive advantage, I don't want it provided for free to other teams on my own data gathering dime."
If deep stats are going to play such a large part in employee evaluation and contract negotiations, companies will want that as proprietary as possible.
Also the NHL can't even figure out their own rules, If I was a team I wouldn't trust them with anything more complicated than a coffee order.

I’m starting from the bold assumption that the organization that has the most detailed data on players contracts, cap situations etc, is the NHL. They have to ensure compliance, it’s critical they do.
So why should the nhl provide this to at least a level of cap geek?
First of all someone is going to do it, the data is already out there, it’s been donetwice effectively already. You have the data so why not have people coming to your website to see it? You don’t need to provide deep analytics but the data is not proprietary or the calculations unique.
Second, a big part of the fan base is in to fantasy leagues, which this data is used for. Again why not drive them to your site and then conveniently link all your betting sites that you’ve sold your soul to.
Anyways, I have no doubt the nhl will miss an opportunity and someone will fill the void.

Didn't want to start another thread. But anyone else annoyed by the subscription based cash grab, for access to profiles on sites like eliteprospects? Has ad revenue slipped? Server costs rising? Seems like a death knell for hard-core hockey nerds access to free content.

So with Kuznetsov opting to have his contract terminated and go back to the KHL both the Canes and Caps get 100% relief now. But no cap friendly it's harder to see if this now gives the Capitals a third rention slot back.
