Yeah, I'm willing to criticize Huberdeau for lots of things, but things that he does. This was a puff-piece and he is a hockey player.
This is the personification of 'move along, nothing to see here.'
Although...this is the off-season and this thread has been kind of fun.

Just take the loss with Chucky. I did.
and you better chill out with the defend the Flames to the death thing.
You are going to stroke out the next 2-3 years.

I see absolutely nothing in any of Huberdeau's statements that I wouldn't assume would be an absolutely natural feeling.
His old team traded him and brought in Tkachuk, who has been the better playoff performer. Meanwhile, Huberdeau crapped the bed so bad in Calgary that it became obvious that rebuild was required. He's now in his 30s, nearing the end of his prime, and has to burn several years while the Flames rebuild and there's nothing he can do about it.
He took the type of contract that will provide his family with generational wealth, but, as a pro athlete, seeing a championship fall out of site while your old team holds up a cup must be tough. And when he signed that contract, it seemed as though the Flames were going to compete. They also brought in Kadri and were offering their depth pieces long-term contracts too. He played a roll, through his own crap play, in ushering in the rebuild but that was not what he signed up for.
Why did Florida win? They had amazing depth, but also had an all-time great playoff performance from their goalie. Bobrovsky had a good but not stellar defence in front of him. His stats don't really tell the whole story, but he was amazing.
If the Flames had 2023 and 2024 playoff Bobrovsky instead of 2022 Jacob Markstrom in net for them in 2022 the Calgary Flames are likely a very different team right now and may have even put up another Stanley Cup banner in the Dome. Things didn't work out that way. That's how sports work.
We don't need to read to much into everything that happened, and I do not see anything out of the ordinary with anything Huberdeau has said about the situation. Huberdeau now has to accept a mentoring role on a rebuilding team instead of gunning for a championship. He can cry himself to sleep on his large piles of money. The Flames have already paid Huberdeau about $17 million to be not so great at his job, and they owe him more than $60 milllion more.

Dude STFU
all my arguments are backed up with data
Imagine thinking Tkachuk had more to do with their cup then Bob lol. Maybe, just maybe its the Tkachuk fanboys who are biased.
Besides I am saying he is 4th beat after the #1 center, D, and goaltender.

Tkachuk was still a part of the win, and he played a role.
This was a more of a team win by the Panthers. I think everyone sacrificed point totals for the greater good of playing a certain way to win.
Outside of Barkov and Bob, the rest of the team chipped in with timely goals and plays, and they all flatlined for those 3 games.
Barkov was the most consistent player of the series. I don't think he is getting enough credit. McDavid had 2 big games to win his trophy.
This is why Edmonton lost. The Panthers are a team. The Oilers are McDavid.

Which is why it was pretty hard top get an MVP rival for McDavid. There wasn't as much of a standout. Bob and Barkov kinda switched it up from game to game. But Forsling, Rodrigues were also in there in the finals (I didn't watch Fla games as closely earlier).

Yes, yes thats all well and good, but have we come to sorts with our anti-Huberdeau rhetoric or not?
Look...if we want to consort as a mob and march on Montreal I need to know.
I have to put it in my calendar.
I've got lots of riots to attend so scheduling is important.

Nothing he said was wrong at all. A big nothing burger. However, some things are better left unsaid in public because the only reason his contract is bad/untradeable is because he isn't producing and the only reason that he isn't producing is because the coaches don't coach the game the way he likes it coached.
This is akin to him sitting on the bench making sure everyone can see him stare mournfully at the blade of his stick as he twists it. The man likes drama.

It reminded me of the 2015 Warriors beating the Cavs. No one really stood out outside of LeBron and that's a give. The series turned when they put Igoudala in and he did a good job, and they gave him the MVP lol.
We need to realize most of the awards even the Selke is mostly a points award in the NHL rather than how effective someone is. Although Barkov did earn it based on all his underlying stats.

In all fairness, Huberdeau could technically ask the flames to mutually disolve the remaining years of his contract. He could then sign a contract closer to what he's worth and play on a contending team. He probably won't though, ultimately because the money matters more than winning and/or pride and/or living up to his contract.
If I was in his shoes, I'd make the exact same choice. It's not particularly honorable, but can't hate a playa for getting dat bag.

No player in NHL history has ever done that. Are they all dishonourable?

I also think he's just a high end secondary piece. He can't hold his own in the regular season as the go to guy. He's a second line dude who's put together some amazing seasons. No shame in that, but we probably shouldn't've signed a second line hero to a top line superstar contract.

Casey Mittelstadt has outplayed this guy for back-to-back seasons.
A "high end" secondary piece scores a bit more than, say, Adam Henrique.
