Outside of the goal Canada has been fine and had some chances they just couldn't find the poise to find the right ball in the final third
Edit: Terrible turnover by Larin and lucky because Messi doesn't miss those often

That’s funny because Canada’s three best players were born in Ghana, Brooklyn, and Ivory Coast.

1-0 at half isn't bad; can still sneak one back. That short corner though, why?

			That was stupid.
You bring everyone up, and then play a short corner.

Had to get that ball in the box

Jesse Marsch way out of his depth. Losing it on the referee in front of the whole team right at halftime.

Last play of the half and you do a short corner? Good lord that was terrible
Pretty decent half all things considered!

Shaffelburg and Larin killing every attack with bad passing and bad pressing. Get someone else in

Thought there was a foul leading to the Argentina goa. Marsch was rightfully pissed.

Im not sure that was at the referee but at the players for the stupid corner. Didn’t see another angle so could be wrong

Edit: ya I think im wrong

Hell yeah, embrace our cultural mosaic, that's what Canada is all about, and why we are one of the best places in the world to live |

No problem with anyone born elsewhere playing for Canada. Love Alphonso Davies, he’s the best thing about Canada right now in my opinion.
I was responding to a poster asking me where in Argentina I was born.

It did look like a foul but not a major miss
Argentinas whole team is Spanish or Italian if you want to look at descent and origin. These guys are repping the country they feel the closest bond with and where they personally are actually from which I respect infinitely more than the lamos who play for their dad's country they've never even been to personally like some other national teams and players

That was a clear foul, that gets called 9/10 times in the Euros
It is what it is tho, Canada defended it poorly

Not entirely true, many are Mestizo which is a mix of European and Indigenous ancestry. Like Di Maria, Molina, and Acuna

What kills me here is the approach. Herdman was guilty of the same thing. Canada has an amazing group of players that if used properly, could hang with the likes of Argentina. Setting up 4-4-2 and putting Bombito out there without someone in midfield to sit right in front of him is just bizarre.
Canada should be setting up defensively and trying to hit Argentina on the counter. I’d also like to see Davies further up the pitch. He’s one of the best five or ten players in the world, no question. I know he’s a natural left back, but he is capable of playing a more advance role where he can have more influence on the game.

No one really believes Canada has much of a chance in this one …but absolutely amazing experience for the World Cup.
