Morton's game looked surprisingly polished. Stromgren has come a long way in a year.

Conroy confirms he expects Brzustewicz to play in Calgary this season... whether it's with the Flames or the Wranglers.

I'll take some credit, I've been hyping him up every time we play Warzone lol.

I can't get over the D prospect pool now compared to 12.5 months ago. It's insane.

Hopefully by this time next year we are saying the same thing about the C prospect pool.

Jurmo becoming a player turns the Flames D pool from ridiculous to insane

as well as that Lindholm trade

Can anybody who's been at development camp give me insight on how Battaglia looks? Personal story with him as a youth playing soccer, hopefully he's impressed. Great kid.

They threw in 4 other assets that turned into 5

Hunter
Jurmo
Gridin
Misa
Jamieson

Final trade is Lindholm for those 5 assets and Kuzmenko.

He turns twenty end of November, that's the least surprising news ever.

One of the very best forwards at the camp. Consistently doing the right things.

All of the first four look like they have the potential to reach the nhl. Then add in a first line nhl forward…. Can we keep trading with Vancouver?

Didn't hear a few names like Solovyov, Ciona, Kuznetsov. Did they play?

Ciona played. I don’t believe the other guys were there.

Solovyov was there Thursday skating on his own with the skating coach for about 45 mins.
He was riding in the stampede parade Friday.
He did not participate in the scrimmage.

Not sure Kuznetsov was here for this camp, I did not see him around.

Some of the Wranglers are training here over the summer. Soloyov is one.

Kuznetsov and Solovyov weren't invited, as they've been to a bunch of these already.

I said it since the trade but watch for Grushnikov to push an LD spot out of main camp.

Love to say I told y’all so about Stromgren going back to when he was drafted. Jurmo too.

I get quite excited at the idea of Stromgren in 3 on 3 OT.

I love eating crow when in situations like this.

They haven't made it yet, but looking much better now.

Going over the game again and wanted to again give some thoughts on performances.

Standouts:

Stromgren. Thought he was the best player on the ice. Strong, fast, creative, and drove the play.

Misa. Sneaky is the best way to describe him. Not fast, but extremely smart and quick to jump on mistakes or any hesitation by the opposition.

Morton. He's an older player and that was obvious. Never panicked and was always trying to push the play forward.

Hurtig. Big guy with speed and soft hands? Yes please. Also knows when to jump into the play and when to hand back and play defense. The Hitmen have a good one on their hands.

Grushnikov. Really calmed things down when he was out there. Always made the smart play and was confident to hold the puck and use his legs when the pass wasn't there.

Z. Parekh. Looked like a top draft pick out there. Was a threat every time he was on the ice.

Surprises:

Hennen. Really liked his play. Was very active and made some outstanding plays. A couple mistakes but a guy I would definitely try and get contracted.

I. Parekh. Has the same skating skills as his brother, just lacking the offensive punch. Was still impressed and thought he could be a good professional.

Tung. Was neck and neck with Yegorov for best goaltender.

Jurmo. Was close to being a stand out. Another guy with size that could get things done all around. Has a couple of oopsie daisies out there, but impressed with an all around game we hadn't heard about.

Under the radar:

Battaglia. Always in the play and making things happen. Non-stop motor.

Suniev. Yegorov probably prevented him from landing in the stand out category. Was robbed on a couple really good opportunities. Has a great shot and knows how to find those soft spots to use it.

Mews. Not quite as skilled as Parehk but really made some excellent high skill plays. His passes were really good and his ability to read the play was probably the best out there.

Brzustewicz. Doesn't have the foot speed of 90% of the playersd out there, but just dangles through people at will. Amazing edge control and can stick handle in a phone booth.

Disappointments?

Honzek. Not that involved in the play. Was a guy that really waited for the play to come to him and capitalize on the work of his linemates. Needs to get his nose dirty more and use that size better.

Gridin. Looked like he was feeling his way out and trying to adjust. Was hoping to see more from him, especially skill plays. Didn't even really get to see him unload his shot.

Lipinski. Another guy I was hoping to see more from. Was invisible until he scored the late goal.

Coronato. Something is just off. Not sure what it is, but he just seemed to be half a step behind everything. Maybe not really giving it his all for some reason but hoped for more. Wanted to see him be a standout.

Even with some players maybe not living up to expectations there wasn't a bad performance out there. Probably the most competitive scrimmage in years. Tons of skill on display and has potential to foreshadow a bright future. Good start for year one of the rebuild.
