If you look back on the thread where it was mentioned that Kylington was in negotiations with Conroy, the majority of posters were more than willing to give him at least 2 years.
How times have changed since he went UFA.

okay, my point was this:
Oil Stain asked why BUF would buy him out.
I said: "you'll find out soon enough" because Skinner sucks, and may be a bit of a poison pill to boot.
(insert "as an Oiler fan" in front of "you'll find out soon enough")

Makes sense now. I also totally thought it was an "insider" type post and he knew what the Sabres were doing with their cap space.

As a person I wish him well whatever he does. But as a fan, just like any other player that wants out of Calgary, he is boo-worthy if he doesn't return.

You’d boo someone for leaving in free agency? It’s not like he demanded a trade. Tough crowd.

I mean, I'm not into and don't participate in the booing of former Flames, I just don't but no judgement on those that do. But that said, many didn't have an issue with booing Johnny for leaving in free agency, why is this different?

Johnny left because he didn’t want to be here (took less money and term elsewhere). If Kylington leaves, it’ll be because he wanted to be here longer than they wanted him to.
That seems pretty different to me. But either way, I also think booing former Flames just because they left is silly.
I haven’t noticed people saying they’ll boo AJ Greer or Dennis Gilbert.

I mean, to re-iterate, you and I are aligned on the booing, not sure why it's a thing.
And totally agree, every situation is different for every player. I think there is acceptance that the journey men NHL players like Greer and Gilbert have different choices to make, but I'd say one big difference, unless I missed it, no where have I heard that Greer or Gilbert were offered deals by the Flames...............so that's a huge difference.
Both Johnny and OK were offered contracts to stay.......of course we could debate the merits of said offers. Both would be here if they really wanted to be here, that's where there situations are similar.

Played himself into a pto likely. Kind of arrogant to expect a multi year deal after the situation since his last multi year contract. Certainly was a situation where you take the one year deal like Mantha to rebuild his stock and then push for a 3-4 year deal next season.
Calgary as a whole treated him with respect and thoughtfulness. Cannot complain about the situation from their pov.
Hope Kylington finds a landing spot.

Even though he's back on the Flames now, I need to stick to my guns and boo Lomberg because he left.

I boo Adam Fox even when I am watching the game at home. Other than that, I don't really boo ex-Flames. Although I did start booing Johnny at the end of the last Columbus game because I needed some sort of fun/entertainment.

I'm not sure why any fan would boo ex-players providing they didn't #### talk the team or city. It's a business after all and I never fault players for doing what's in their own interest as we all know teams certainly will.

It’s still early but I’m guessing Kylington’s agent screwed the pooch on this one.
Maybe he’ll have another chance in Calgary later if he fires his agent.

If you boo everyone, no-one will accuse you of playing favourites.

Add signing with Oilers to that list and you're good
