Thought for sure the league would have the Flames play the Oilers home opener for their inevitable WCF banner raising and 1 hour pre game celebration

Yeah, I was expecting that to happen. Looks like Winnipeg gets to suffer through it instead: https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-reveals...2024-25-season

Poor Winnipeg gets the chore of sitting through the inevitable 75 minute wankfest of the amazing Oilers and the 8 banners they will surely raise...2024 Playoff Participant, First Round Winner, Pacific Division Champion, Western Conf Champion, Conn Smythe Winner, Best PP, Most Miles Flown, Best Fans. The tribute video for Connor will be 34 minutes alone.
Better Winnipeg than us.

Thought the same and was dreading it, with the most likely loss to them if that happened ( although we are better in openers lately) they wouldn't have shut up about for the entire month.

Looks like i will be looking for tickets for opening night Oct 12th. My brother who passed away from cancer was a huge Flyers fan and i have been to every game between the Flames and Flyers since he was gone. So far Flames are up 3-1 but i think that will change.

So we only play the Oilers and Kings 3 times and everybody else 4 in our division. Why the F is the league so stupid? Why would they only have 3 BOA. Just dumb.

Every year there's 2 teams in our division that we only see 3 times. They cycle through them so that over the years it averages out.

TBF, I've had my fill of the Oilers this past year. The less I see / hear from them the better for the coming season.

If us playing the Oilers one less time gives even the remotest of chances that they finish lower in the standings due to them having to play someone better than us and therefore have a more difficult route through the playoffs where they also hopefully don't secure home advantage, then I'm ok with it

Speaking of dumb:The season will start in North America on Tuesday, Oct. 8 with a tripleheader broadcast exclusively on ESPN highlighted by the Florida Panthers raising their first Stanley Cup championship banner before facing the Boston Bruins at Amerant Bank Arena at 7 p.m. ET.
The other games on Oct. 8 include the St. Louis Blues at Seattle Kraken at 4:30 p.m. ET and the Chicago Blackhawks at the Utah Hockey Club at 10 p.m. ET.
so a 130pm/330pm start for the Kraken/Blues on a weekday?!

First thing I see when looking at the schedule: A game against the Oilers on the second half of a back to back with 22 hours in between puck drop with travel. Classic

Anxiously awaiting some strength of schedule analysis. I trust the Oiler fan boy that does the NHL Schedule got the Oilers lots of tired travel teams again.
