Florida Panthers Stanley Cup Finals Appearances, 28 seasons total pre-Tkachuk: 1

Florida Panthers Stanley Cup Finals Appearances, 2 seasons total w/Tkachuk: 2

If you still think he didn't really matter, the math says your wrong. Guy totally helped change the dynamic of that team into a legitimate contender. And it's not just Tkachuk fanboys like myself who think that.

Haha good!

The perfect outcome.

For all the #### calgary fans have been through, they deserve the old Flames rubbing some salt in the oilers wound.

Tkachuk winning is just the gift that keeps on giving. Amazing how far under the skin he is of Oiler fans and even some crybaby Flames fans.

Guy deserves it. Should have been here, but it’s been just great seeing guys that you were rooting for the moment their name was called at the draft and came up in the Flames system win it all.

My son and daughter are in limbo as they have watched the Flames live in Denver numerous times and some good games, however during the playoffs they have been disappointed to put it mildly.

Amazing as parents we have such an influence on our kids. Last night we all sat down together and watched the entire game and a lot of the post game and they were cheering wildly for Florida and against the Oilers…

Last week one of my son’s friends asked him, “Do you want the Oilers to win the Cup?” My son quickly replied with, “Nope, our whole family hates Edmonton!”

That a boy…

I'm out of thanks, due to it being a good day. My wife and kids sat there the same as I did. Ready to watch the Oilers lose. We live in so called Oil Country so I get to be a relentless dick to everyone that pushed their ####ty Oiler agenda on us. Bravo to you and your family. You guys are doing God's work.

My nephew's son is 8 and he's been trained by his dad that Edmonton no good. So we were sitting there with him and his little sister who's 4 watching the game and he's teaching his little sister that Oilers are no good and every time Oilers have the puck she would just boo.

He is a big part of their team...Bob going from a 10M backup worst contract in the NHL to a top goalie was an even bigger factor though. He wasn't even the starter to start last playoffs, and they were down 3-1 when they decided to put him in. It's remarkable.

Being the 4th or 5th best player on a cup team is not an insult at all.

Didn’t he play that Edmonton series with a broken hand? Not giving him a free pass, but I think he injured himself pretty seriously in the Dallas series.

The NHL playoffs truly are a war of attrition. It played out again this year with the healthiest teams making it to the finals.

Tkachuk was always good against Edmonton. Even Oilers fans credit him for rekindling the rivalry.

Tkachuk beating the Oilers for the Stanley Cup is hockey karma / hockey gods at work.

The way the Edmonton media vilified Tkachuk for the hits on Kassian was very unjust. It was media propaganda at its worst.

It wasn't unjust. It was very Edmonton. That overblown story led to Holland overreacting and handing Kassian that beautiful 4 year contract that they had to pay the Coyotes a 2024 2nd round pick and 2025 3rd round pick to take off their hands. Tkachuk really has been a thorn in the side of that organization which is why I could never not like him.

For sure, I think to the Tkachuk family though, it was unjust. They basically pressured Matthew to have to fight Kassian and risk injury. I think the Tkachuk's have a legit beef with the Oilers organization and the City of Edmonton. Their hatred for them is real. Even in Matthew's introductory presser after the trade to Florida, he still had to dig at the Oilers. Brady is also extra combative when he plays the Oilers. Matthew's "shoutout to Flames fans" was just from the Sportsnet interview. He had an interview with a US network where he dug at the travelling Oiler fans too; he had no sympathy at all for those fans who travelled so far to see their team lose.

City Council should hold a White Hat ceremony for Matthew next time Florida is in town.

The City should go full WWII.

Find everyone who has an Oilers jersey and shave their heads to mark them as collaborators with the enemy!
