Pretty sweet gig. Coach Lakers for two seasons until LeBron retires. Then get fired in the off-season. Then just move back to ESPN and get double paid. He can even use LeBron/Bronny as an excuse if he ever wants to get back in the coaching ranks.
I know the media cries boohoo for all these coaches being fired, but they're cashing out! I wonder if some 'want' to be fired just for the payout?

I didn't watch much at all. Primarily because of the ongoing referees drumming up drama through stupid foul calls. It's maddening, but because the Raps are out of it I just didn't have the interest in the drama. I imagine the general public doesn't find it too thrilling that the on court product isn't speaking for itself.

Seems like a lot

The Brooklyn Nets are trading Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Knicks are sending Bojan Bogdanovic, four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-rounder via the Milwaukee Bucks, the right to swap future picks, and a second-round selection to the Nets, Wojnarowski reports.

How could the Nets even demand such a price? How were we not able to get the same thing for OG or Pascal? That price is insane.

For five firsts and an unprotected pick swap you'd think the Knicks are trading for a surefire HOFer and not a guy who has never even been an all-star. But #### them picks, I guess, not like it'll be the current GM's mess to clean up if it doesn't work.

Because Bridges is better on offence and pretty similar on defence while never missing games. He also has 2 more years on a cheap deal and OG was a free agent. It’s still an overpayment but I would expect Bridges to demand more than OG

Will be interesting to see what the Knicks do next, I think they'll move Randle and re-sign OG. Having OG and Bridges at the 3 and 4 would be tremendous for them

It's hard to believe. He's signed for two more years at a good number, so there is that. But that seems crazy.
So many teams don't have their own picks for years into the future. Suns, Nets, Knicks. I guess it kind of eliminates the option of cheering for losses if you're a fan.

Nets actually got their next couple own picks back in another trade last night with Houston, so they're fully set up to tank the next couple years (giving up some Phoenix picks to Houston). They really did a 180 on their draft capital in a very short amount of time, and are suddenly really well set up.

Good for OG, even better for the Raps to not be paying that contract. But we all need to start getting used to contracts like that, when the big cap spike comes with the new TV deal any half decent 3 and D wing is gonna be making $40 million+ per year.

Wild though when you look at OGs and Siakam’s contracts when you consider how bad we were with those two as our main guys.

So far this draft is pretty interesting. After the first four picks the picks have been somewhat consensus lower and picks. In a way I’m glad the Raps had their bandaid ripped off and the pick taken away. Less enthusiasm it seems this year.

The Twolves traded a 2031 first round draft pick. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pick that far away get traded.

Richard Jefferson after all these years still drives me crazy with his over the top announcer voice enunciating every syllable.

Ja'Kobe Walter seems like a nice pick. Kids shooting highlights are impressive.

I'd take anything with a grain of salt. Highlights always look great. There's a story for every guy chosen. I'm more inclined to believe there's upside but significant risk with any of these guys after the first handful. Even in a decent year the NBA has many many misses. In a year where it's a wildcard and most think there will be no stars, there's a very high chance this amounts to nothing. Wouldn't surprise me if they trade him in the next few minutes too.

That was funny, commercial break before AND after the Raps pick. They didn’t show him on the stage or show an interview.

Crazy how many France related picks have been chosen. Wouldn't be surprised if there are more French players than Americans in this first round.
