Just another hateful post from you. Israel is a country with many different people, religions, politics, backgrounds, etc. Hamas is a terrorist group with one goal, murder Jews. The two are not comparable. To describe Israel in such a way is par for the course from your side. Wonder who else you hate so much?
One side is everything you described and will tell you when asked. Amazing how TikTok and propaganda can affect someone so poorly.
There are under 20 million Jewish people on the entire planet, they will almost always be a minority, especially on the world stage where there are so many dictatorships (who generally seem to hate Israel and teach/enforce their citizens to hate Israel).
I didn't realize I was responding to Bagor, I will try better not to feed the trolls.

Curious how someone as woke as you can make such a statement when antisemitism is so high in Canada right now? Just yesterday a Jewish owned restaurant (which was featured on a published list of Jewish owned business) was shot up, another terrible attack in Canada.
You would have to have your head stuck in TikTok to not be aware that Canada is facing a massive rise in hatred against Jewish people. Or be on the side promoting it.

Totally aware, it’s terrible. I’m referring to you specifically living in the land of make believe and throwing out junk like “Hamas defender” because you don’t like when people are critical of Israel, even though you use someone critical of Israel equating the two as evidence of defending Hamas, which literally makes zero sense.
Keep mocking people for being “woke” just like you mock people for caring about LGBTQ issues. Throw labels around all you want. Nobody cares.

Is there a better term to use when referring to the actions of the government of Israel rather than the country or people of Israel?
In general there are 3 sides in this conflict. the Israeli government, Hamas, and Israeli and Palestinian civilians.

“The Israeli government” or “Israel.” I’m not sure how else you would refer to the government.

I think often that a Nage will interpret the term Israel as being against the country or people rather than the actions of the government so really I’m asking him if there is a better way to differentiate them to avoid confusion.

It doesn't matter what name you choose. As demonstrated countless times in this thread, there's only one constant in life: Whatever name you choose, Nage will quote you out of context and call you an antisemite.
I wasted way too much time trying to reason with them and find common ground in past threads only to get called racist scum immediately the next time I criticized the Israeli government. Save yourself the time and just move along.

They are both groups that participate in deliberate acts of terrorism.
Again. Whilst most civilized people are disgusted by the acts of terrorism of both sides you actively defend one.

My side? Lol. Would that be the people opposed to the deliberate mass murder of civilians including children, infants and newborns?
Here is someone from "my side" talking about the Israeli goal. See. Again. So similar.
But the difference again is whilst most people are repulsed by the extermination by both sides you have only highlight and have an issue with one side.
Extermination. The new buzz word around Israel.
Again. Hamas and Israel. So comparable.

Israelis should be absolutely livid at how the government has proceeded here. If they don't have complete and total victory(elimination of all Palestinians), all they've achieved is creating new generations of terrorists who will capture, rape and kill more Israelis. Is that success? How can anyone, anywhere think this is a solution? It's murder. It's needless death. It perpetuates the cycle. And it's absolutely, without doubt, monstrous. If you aren't calling for and end to this, I'm sorry, but don't look in the mirror. You are a monster too. I'd hate for you to be frightened.

But this is his exact goal. To throw out the antisemitic word so that you will move along. That you will stop criticizing Israel and its genocide.
Whether deliberately or through some warped brainwashed mind his spiel is everything is always everybody else's issue. They're all just antisemitic. He's a victim.
Nobody wants to go anywhere near him or have anything to do with him or his family on his street? It's clearly because he's Jewish and they're all antisemitic. No consideration or reflection that it might be because he's considered a nasty dangerous piece of work. Would you seriously want to be or have your kids around someone that you can't have a differing opinion from? That leads to his antisemitic labelling. He weaponises the word. He plays the victim. To shut down criticism.

I mean move along from them (Nage), not from the discourse around the actions of the Israeli government and Hamas that are leading to massive amounts of innocent people dying and suffering.
You nailed the victim complex part of it. Although now you'll get called an antisemitic holocaust denier for saying that. Then if you cite some other atrocities your ancestors fled, it will be called out that it was a smaller number of atrocities, therefore you're minimizing the holocaust - so it's clear what you're saying is you hate Jewish people.
It's all so predictable now.

So very concerning events in northern Israel over the last couple of days including Hezbollah drones getting through IDF air defences. Apparently Canada is making plans to evacuate 45,000 citizens from Lebanon. Hopefully diplomacy will prevail but it seems we are on the verge of a significant escalation.

Hamas are monsters. They are however, transparent in that they state clearly, their sickening and depraved objective.
The current Israeli government (which commands little support in Israel) obfuscates over its real objective, but demonstrates it clearly through its actions.
It is in no way anti-Semitic or any indication of support for Hamas to state this and be sickened by the actions of both parties and their tragic impact on innocent Israeli and Palestinian victims.

I quoted a post from October 7, Israel had not yet responded.
Israel is doing what must be done here, the international community has sat back for 20 years and Israel cannot fight a war like everyone demands from them. Hamas has to go, but I agree that the result is terrible.
And what Bumface posted is pure fiction, entirely made up. Don't bite on his trolling.

Essentially you are arguing that this is a defensive war. For that to be valid this war needs to prevent more civilian casualties than it causes. Israel could have continued to operate their very successful defensive after a limited response to Oct 7. You accept the civilian deaths as unavoidable because you don’t appear to believe Israel has a choice. They continue to have a choice.

After the short discussion about naming issues, Bagor kind of hits the nail on the head by identifying the opposing violent sides as : Hamas and Israel. If you are going to identify one group as a specific political entity, you have to do the same to the other to avoid confusion. What are Netanyahu's party called? Likud. Very simple, Hamas vs Likud.
That way if you want to talk about Palestinians and Israel, you know it's the people as a whole.
Also, my continuing two cents, Isreal wants to see the elimination of Gaza, so I think the location goes away, and Gazans are relocated to border an Islamic nation. So saying 'elimination of all Palastinians' isn't really possible anyway.

Just stop, man. Bill is one of the most fair and least trollish posters on the board. And that’s as someone who has been in agreement and had spirited disagreements with him.
He didn’t make anything up, and he’s not trolling. There’s a reason you’re on an island here. Nobody buys any of what you’re selling. The sooner you accept that you throwing accusations of trolling, hate, and anti-semitism around has become a joke, the sooner you can put that stuff aside and engage in discussion like you pretend to do. You can actually live it. You’ll enjoy it, I promise.

I am not sure why you think a defensive war requires some casualty score card, it doesn't. Israel isn't just facing Hamas, it has had attacks from the Houthis, Lebanon, Iran and Gaza. This isn't just some random attack, it is well coordinated.
Israel doesn't have the population to tie up a massive army either, it has to fight this way.
You haven't described an alternative for Israel.
