Won't be a popular opinion on here but I'm ok if the Oilers win. Panther fans are lame. They don't even have an outdoor viewing party do they? I also hate Bennett, Tkachuk and Maurice so it will be great to see them blow a 3-0 series lead. Still love Downtown Connor Brown and Hyman.

I don't think so at all. The Panthers are on the verge of completely blowing a 3-0 lead, which in the NHL is a historical level of choking. I can't think of much more pressure than that.
Panthers look like they are under pressure. Oilers look like they know they're going to win.

The FLA post-game quotes (Maurice, Barkov, Verhaeghe) were disappointingly casual again. We know we can play better, we are confident, game 7 will be exciting etc. etc. Verhaeghe saying they are a confident group and 'here for a reason'. You'd hope for some accountability from a guy who has been as invisible as he has.

That's one of the worst things... is there a single player on the Oilers you "want" to win? As in if they were playing for a different team would you be happy for them? I can't think of one. Even with the Canucks in 2011 or the Oilers in 2006 (gulp) there were a few likeable players. The same doesn't apply in 2024. The entire lineup top to bottom is unlikable. I think the player I hate the least is scrub joureyman Mattias Janmark.

At the end of the day, the oilers have been the better team. They’ve played better each game and have dominated game 4 onwards. It’s not luck that LA folded, Vancouver could barely muster a shot on net for 6 games and a powerful Dallas was completely neutralized. Four straight opponents didn’t just lay down. Does Florida have some crippling injuries to their stars? I’d bet on it. But Edmonton has a historically good PP, PK, quite possibly the best performance by a forward in nhl playoff history (mcdavid) and one of the best performances by a defencemen in nhl playoff history (Bouchard). Skinner has also proven he’s a premier nhl starter.

I don’t see any scenario where Florida can regroup and regain momentum to overcome the oilers onslaught. Their stars are firing on all cylinders, their depth players are scoring key goals and they’re playing with more confidence than I’ve ever seen. And admittedly with a fairly weak roster outside the top 3 or 4 players. Knoblauch is the best move the Oilers organization has made in a decade. In hindsight, their slow start, which got blobfish fired, was the catalyst that resulted in a historic cup win.

This will go down as inarguably the greatest comeback in nhl history and one of the greatest, if not the greatest, comebacks in the history of sports.
