People who can’t carry a discussion or trade arguments for important things. You know the type, the ones who can state their baseline thought but either get uncomfortable or defensive or just shut down the conversation if it’s not in alignment. Rando on the internet? Don’t give a ####.
Personal life with big impacts? Yeah, shutting down conversation is bull####.

The amount of dust in the house even though you try to keep up with it very regularly. No children, no pets etc. I literally vacuum, dust, do some other clean up, empty the cannister and do a quick follow up and there's a ton of additional dust!!
The other noticeable change is how these days I find no coins or cash in the cushions. You used to be able to count on a few bucks. Now? Nothing but more dust!

What are you using for a furnace filter? It is questionable where you want to catch it though as increasing the pressure drop wears out your fan faster

As per CP HVAC expert EVERLAST, I go with the cheap filters. I have a nat. gas furnace and like everbody else, it does spread the dust everywhere. Hot water, boiler heat is the cleanest and healthiest I think.
It's just shocking how much dust can accumulate in such a short period of time. In my utility room where my furnace/hot water tank and storage is, I don't have any dust.

I live in the Beltline, pigeons on balconies can be a bit of a problem...so someone bought the most obnoxious anti-bird device I've ever heard. It's an almost 30 second long montage of different large bird shrieking sounds, and it's absolutely piercingly loud. It goes off every 2-3 minutes, and they let it run all night long last night. I'd honestly rather have my balcony covered in pigeon dung than this racket.
It must be driving the many residents in all the adjacent apartment buildings bonkers, this clown is going to end up in a body bag.

No I don't. I can't say I know a lot of people who have them? Maybe I will look into one but would it really help with the dust all over the house?

If you have old carpet that could be a culprit.
An air purifier will absolutely nuke a metric fk ton of dust, though. I have three at my place and we're virtually dust free. Just vacuum off the pre filter every month and replace the hepa filter every year. They're awesome.

Sounds like the equivalent of shushing, where the remedy is far more obnoxious than the original problem.
If you see this neighbour, try shushing them (even if they aren't talking). Nothing cuts to the core of a humans soul like being shushed.

Getting my car smoked when its parked outside my house. At least it wasn't a hit and run. It was in broad daylight and there were tons of witnesses
My car is a write off and now I have to spend money I don't have to get another one.
Small positive of my mother in law having open heart surgery recently is that she can't drive for six weeks so we can borrow her car while we shop for a vehicle.

This happens so often it really gets annoying.
In the last 15 years my cars have been hit 4 times. 4 TIMES! parked on the road outside my house. 3 of the 4 times resulted in a total write off.

You should definitely get one. It purifies the air.
I have one on my main floor and it definitely reduces the dust around (by drawing it into its filter).

Oh I'll shush him alright, after I shove that bird noise emulator up his arse. It doesn't sound like it's coming from my building , but across the street. There's several apartments all around me, just need to follow the noise when I have time so I know the source, and where to direct my untethered rage.
Best part is the anti-bird screeching isn't even working lol, the pigeons just ignore it and keep doing their thing.

There's a caveat to that recommendation from Everlast.
When you have a situation where there is more dust in the house, then you can use a higher MERV rating filter. So for instance, right now due to higher pollen and/or dust, you can for a shorter (ish) duration run something like a Merv 6-8 filter to catch the dust and allergens. But don't go higher than that and I typically don't have those filters in for more than a week or two.
This is also true when you're doing renos at your home and there's dust from lumber/drywall, sanding etc. Get a higher MERV filter for that temporary period of time so that stuff doesn't get into your furnace and ducts.
I will do this for a few weeks and once the dust and/or allergens have basically settled/been sorta cleared out, then I'll put that cheap filter back in.
