I actually think the Panthers got this. They got their game back by the end of tonight's game.

The pendulum has swing back IMO. It'll be tight, but I think they'll put it away.

Can't wait until Oilers are eliminated at home and you cry in your Oiler PJs.

I agree with this sentiment. When the panthers hit they win. Tonight in the second and third they started hitting everything that moves again and you could see the ice was tilted in their favour

Stay out of the box, keep dominating 5v5 and all will be good my guys

They already have so it's not too crazy

Has anyone taken a proper run at McP*ssy or Pissy yet? I won't watch the games because it makes me irrationally angry and kids sports happening each weeknight- watching scores and reading CP for reaction. There have been enough goal differentials (i.e. last game when it was 8-1) that there has been opportunity to pay Draisaitl back (or another star player) for his jumping elbow on Barkov. Eye for an eye. If Barkov is truly playing through something ( i.e. that hit) that's a 2 min penalty on the oilers in exchange for an intentional dirty hit that may have changed the course of the series by injuring the Panthers best player. With the series 3-2 maybe not the time now... I want to see Draisaitl get taste of his own medicine, next season if need be- I hate that guy so much.

The bad starts and dumb shorty's against have screwed the Panthers. They need to strike first in game 6. But it does feel like the pressure is on them now.

Just out of curiosity

In the 2024 playoffs, how many embellishment calls have been called
1) against the Oilers
2) against opponents of the Oilers
3) against literally anyone else

Agree and if you’re the coach, what do you say to the players? How do they defend? The thing that absolutely pisses me off, and I have no doubt that this is how it goes, is that when it comes to EDM, the default for the refs is actually in favour of calling a penalty unless they decide not to.

For every other team the default is no penalty against the Oilers unless it’s an obvious call.

Things change game to game. The Oilers are still down 3-2 and the Panthers are a good team. McDavid's hot hand may cool and the Panthers may actually have a good start in game 6. There's a reason coming back from 3-0 to win a series is exceedingly rare, because you need everything to go perfectly to overcome that deficit. It feels like the Oilers have momentum but the reality is the odds still favour the panthers.

Third period told this exact story.

The Panthers are still in the driver's seat, especially with home ice for game 7 if it gets to that point. But man, it just feels like the stars are aligned for an Oilers reverse sweep. It's basically been sunshine and rainbows for the these losers all playoffs so far:

First they narrowly avoid having to play Vegas/Colorado in round 1.

Round 1- they draw arguably the worst team in the playoffs for an easy free pass into the 2nd round.

Round 2- they get an injured Canucks team playing their 3rd string goaltender, and who didn't even bother to show up for games 6 and 7. So basically another free pass into the next round.

Round 3- Dallas fails to show up in three straight games, gifting the Oilers another free pass, this time into the SCF.

Round 4- Just when Florida goes up 3-0 and looks poised to crush the Oilers' spirits and sweep them in embarrassing fashion, they suddenly forget how to play hockey and proceed to s*** the bed in two straight games, handing the Oilers a massive gift-wrapped confidence boost going back to Dumpsterville for game 6 where they always get favourable reffing.

The pressure is obviously still on the Oilers here, but man, everything seems to be going right for these dirtbags. And it's annoying as hell.

Is anyone else considering putting a large bet on Edmonton to win the series? I still hope and pray Florida wins this thing... but I'm sure as hell not going to see the Oilers win without getting something out of it. I'd rather flush $500 down the toilet than have these merchant thieves win a Cup. It almost feels inevitable now. Flames fans are ill-fated for doom, suffering, agony... and eventually death. Nothing more. I may as well make a few bucks along the way.

The Panthers are facing 2 teams. It’s disgusting

The Oilers have had 2 more PPs per game, each game, from games 3 through 5

Haven’t seen the refs call dives on 29 and 97. But they aren’t shy to offset Edmonton penalties with embellishments

The cats simply can’t afford to make the mistakes they have been making. Can’t give that short handed breakaway. Bob’s gotta seal the post

Clearly the better team, notably 5 on 5, but you can’t expect the win just by simply being the better team.

Panthers let off the gas, and a cornered animal is fighting for their lives. That is what happened last game and half of this game.

The boys learnt half way through this game that it isn’t over, and we saw them completely take over almost all aspects of the game.

Going back to Edmonton is going to be iffy, but I think the fire is fully lit back under their arses.

Stay out of the box and keep the same pressure up, they’ll quit gripping their sticks so tight and shooting either wide or straight to the chest.

Even Bobrovsky looked to give his head a shake making a few stellar saves when the whole team kicked into “#### let’s get our #### together” mode and I think we see the Florida team we saw mostly from the first couple games.

2 games for skinner to let in a mistake or two, or will McDavid litterally will his way through two more games and turn into a force ghost at the end of it?

Maurice needs to pull the Gluegun. Toss the stick into the stands " you guys are just so F#*$&$@awesome.

Go out and get it!!! Or maybe that happened again this time with the Oilers ? Or beers on the plane instead of the train?

Whatever it was it worked. And Kelly H was right . There is now HOPE.

I'm gonna go be sick

Do you guys think McDavid gets the Conn Smythe at this point regardless of who wins?

I think it's over. The Panthers like the Canucks and Stars have hit a point in the series where they have started doubting themselves and as with those teams I just don't see the Panthers recovering. They are going to regret not showing up in game 4 as that was their one chance to step on their throat and finish them off. Now they are facing a tidal wave of momentum and simply aren't up to the task.

Yup, it's done. And no one to blame but themselves.

####ing should have showed up in Game 4. Absolutely embarrassing.
