Because. They do. They have. They've said it can. This has already been done.
I dont like the Stampede, but I understand and respect it's importance to this City in many ways. If other people like it then they can fill their boots thats great.
That was my point. They have the data and have made their decision meaning they can handle it.
People complaining like no thought went into canceling or not canceling. If the city thought there was a risk to our water supply it would be cancelled.

So it was always within my power to walk into any business in Calgary and demand a glass of tap water?
I mean, kinda? I feel like if I walked into any business in the city and asked for a glass of water they would probably oblige. What’s your angle here? Do you hate giving out free water?

Free water?? Who are you?

Didn't Fuzz post a graph of water use by month a few days ago? I looked and couldn't find it, but that should show how much of a bump we get during Stampede...
Maybe nuance isn't the exact perfect word...but that all just kinda sounds like nuance (ie. a whole bunch of details that people don't always consider).
I guess if the information has been communicated in the media I expect people to read it and then if they have questions they should be asking for clarification not just ranting. Like you read the Herald article it would make sense to ask how much water does stampede use for animals and where are you trucking the water from.
It shouldn’t be I’m not conserving water any more because stampede is on.
I don’t believe that the city could communicate in such a manner that they could win.

It came across a little entitled. Like if you walked into a business and asked for a glass of water and they didn’t give you one, you’d make a post bitching about what a crappy business they are.

I probably would, am I really putting a business out by asking for a glass of water (like I did at Earls today but was denied one). It’s not entitled, I pay my fair share for drinking water and those dinks are profiteering under the guise of being socially responsible. Last I checked the city hasn’t asked citizens to stop drinking tap water either, so quite honestly whatever stance you’re trying to make is pretty poor.

Were they trying to charge you for tap water? I thought they were offering bottled water?
The only water they were offering came at a cost, unlike tap water which before they offered for free.
You still haven’t elaborated your thoughts on this yet despite me asking you. So what do you think about businesses up charging during an emergency?
So they didn’t trick you into buying bottled water and they didn’t try to charge you for tap water? Why do you think everyone owes you a glass of water? Can I come to your house and demand that you let me take a dump in your toilet cause of whatever my utility bill says? That’s pretty silly.
Anyway, a restaurant not offering free tap water wouldn’t bother me, because if I really wanted it, I’d get some at home. I am not some animal that can’t go without water for a few hours.
