In fact the Gaudreau game 7 OT goal was probably louder.

Based on the people I've seen in the crowds, I'm sure you found it very cringe.

It’s how the new arenas are built, I was at the game last night and Rogers arena was louder during game 1 against the Oilers.

When Sportsnet brought dB meters to Edmonton, Van, Winnipeg and Toronto at the start of this years playoffs Edmonton was behind Vancouver, which was behind Winnipeg.

Love the Flames and hate the oilers.
As an outsider though of Alberta , the animosity is outrageous, reflected on this site over my years of reading here. How do you all function and get along in your province with that much discord and hatred towards your rivals and cities ?
Is a lot of it in jest ?
Go finish them off Panthers on Tuesday !

They pump a lot of loud music in the arena when they score. The organization like its fans are so insecure that they have to artificially make it sound louder than it is in the arena.

Totally OT, but when I went to a Leafs game in February, they pump in fan cheering over the PA system.
Really odd

We don't really have to worry about it. When people from Edmonton try to come south they just get distracted by the donut shop in Red Deer and after a dozen of those bad boys they forget what they were doing and just head home.
Occasionally one gets through and makes it close, but we have this really crappy mall in Balzac on the northern edge of the city and you must know, people from Edmonton love ####ty malls. They'll spend multiple days in a row there.
After that, they're often found wandering around Airdrie looking for their house.

This site is not a very good representation of the relationship between Calgary and Edmonton. There are many things the 2 cities agree on. Sports is just not one of them.
My daughter lives in Calgary so I am there often. It is a great city but would I cheer for a Calgary team? ABC.

I don't think I have ever seen a network go out of its way the way Rogers Sportsnet has to find dumb little stats to tell us how the Oilers are coming back.
Now I am seeing winning streaks the Oilers go on when they lost 3 in a row.

Well that's a nice perspective that rises above the petty rivalries.
You're right, Calgary is a great city. Can't say the same about Edmonton though.

Notice how they waited until now to research that instead of doing it when they actually lost the third one in a row.
