Finally get a run and then the rookie Canadian reliever gets the heart of the order out meekly. Frustrating team.

Pinch hitting Kirk for Varsho was an interesting decision.

Schneider is likely starting to feel the heat form above and is starting to unload the clip, even if that clip may be filled with blanks.

As with so many games this season, it looks like men vs. boys out there.
I really miss the days when the Jays were a contender and you could never count them out offensively. This year if they're down by 2 or 3 you might as well shut the game off.

 Such a boring team.

Yeah, not sure if it would matter, but some characters and emotion would be nice.
Donaldson, Bautista, Stroman, Price, even a snap show like Lawrie, and others, wore their heart of the sleeve in game.

Maybe they need a legit bench clearer to bring them together?

Another game, another less than 2 run game. 3 hits.

That was sad. At least it was over quickly.
3 hits is pathetic. Clement with 2 of them and gets rewarded by being taken out of the game.

I was optimistic, but this team has really sucked the joy out of being a fan of the Blue Jays. It is just a chore to tune into this team. Almost 70 games in, hard to believe they can just flip a switch and somehow start hitting for power and pitching better.
Tear it down. This isn't the right mix.

This year sucks so badly. What an absolute waste of time watching the Blue Jays is most nights.

In my view, its a lack of a plan by management,
For 2 seasons, they have failed to address the issue.

Jays are seriously lacking in terms of offensive ability

Offseason was beyond terrible, not a really good move in any of them

They are running of time, on control with Vladdy and Bo,

Soon they are going to have to make a decision sign them or trade

The 2 guys who got hits last night aren’t playing today. Just Jays things.

I don’t see it as a lack of a plan. I see it as they had a plan and it didn’t work out like they anticipated. They thought Vlad and Bo could maintain their power numbers, which hasn’t happened. They thought they could sacrifice a bit of power for some improvements in run prevention, with the caveat that Vlad and Bo would be able to continue to hit for some power (Bo flirted with 30 bombs just three seasons ago), we are witnessing the results of this. Also Oakland no longer gave their stars for pennies on the dollar, once we scooped Semien and Chapman, the offensive additions to this roster haven’t achieved much.

Coupled with a serious lack of developing good to great hitters over the last 6 seasons we are stuck with crossing our fingers with Barger and Horowitz.

The starting pitching additions have been decent overall though.

The off-season was bad for essentially every team except the Dodgers and the Yankees with Soto. There were no good options to sign as free agents, and with our pool of prospects being, well, bad, we were in no position to trade for anyone significant, which can be blamed on the front office.

The lack of power from star players is affecting more than just Vlad and Bo, Austin Riley is having a terrible season along with Carroll, Arozarena.

It’s bad, I don’t like Atkins, but I don’t see him flailing, I see this roster construction as intentional.

Really, they built it around Vlad, Bo and George. They have 16 home runs collectively. They were committed to these three. It’s not working, and it likely won’t in the future. Time to tear it all down.

Richards doesn't look too bad to start, so far anyways.
 One positive I guess.

Yeah, the plan was to build the offense around Bo, Vlad, Kirk and Springer and none of them can hit anymore. I mean, who really saw that coming in 2022?
Three of them are still in their "primes" too.

I guess you can say "well, Springer is 34 now so that's not shocking, and Kirk is a pork chop, so that's not shocking"

But Bo and Vlad are just huge disappointments.

I like the sacrifice by IKF. But you gotta safety squeeze then with KK. He has way to much swing and miss to rely on driving in a run.
