I love the puckluck comment by knobhead last night. Every single Panthers goal so far has been a skilled play that ends up in the back of the net. Not too hard to see as well that McDavid and Draisaitl are completely out of gas. Draisaitl, other than trying to break Barkov's jaw, has been completely invisible.
It always makes me laugh how Oilers fans and media look at goaltending. Like if a team invests into a great goalie, it's cheating or not fair. I recall a lot of comments back in the day how the Flames would suck if it wasn't for Kiprusoff. Now the narrative is about how they should win against Florida, but Bobrovsky is stealing it away.
As if goalies aren't a legitimate part of building a team and that teams can't structure around a great goalie. It's funny too because on the flip side, they have no issue blaming their own goalies all the time.

I hope they do keep Bouchard! He's another 1 dimensional asset that they will overpay greatly to retain. Sorry Oil, but The only 5-6 players you have that are worth anything can only play at 1 end of the ice. Unless you address this, you aren't winning squat anytime soon.

It's funny how the media in Edmonton has not turned to the Oilers getting back easily next season, because the 83 Oilers got swept.
A core group of 21/22 year old players vs McMickey and Crysaddel who are pushing 28 and 30 lol.
Age aside, neither has really ever truly taken games over in the playoffs and are unlikely to do it in the future. They may put up points in bunches in the earlier rounds against weaker teams, but I don't remember either having a period or several shifts where they absolutely dominate and will their team to win like Iginla, Sakic or Forsberg back in the day. Guys like Mackinnon, Barkov and even Ovi sure have more recently as well.
These guys on the Oilers are special teams reliant fluffs that aren't able or aren't willing to get greasy enough to win the biggest games against the toughest teams. If Dallas hadn't completely run out of gas and gone tits up, they would have been golfing for weeks now too.
