Wow, you're right. Only 14 minutes of ice time. I wonder if it's a matchup thing.

So obvious
I still can’t believe the embellishment call on Marchment last series (who wasn’t engaged in the play, and you could see the whiplash like effect on his body) .. and then the stripes letting Leon embarrass them like this

Calgary was the last team that felt like most Canadians cheered on.
It was 10 years since the last Canadian team in a final. It was led by Jarome Iginla. It was also authentic not made up and forced on us like the teams after.
None of cup runs by a Canadian team has felt that way again.
Go Panthers USA USA

Yeah even some of my Oilers buddies told me they were cheering on the Flames in 04. Good for them but not something I could do with the tables turned.

I don’t know about total ice time, but obviously there is some matching involved with last couple of shifts. Not normal circumstances opponent wise, so I wouldn’t read in to it as a normal situation
His last 2 shifts, they were clearly trying to match Barkov against the Edmonton wonder twins
The Oilers started their final 5 unit at 17:32, and pulled Skinner at 17:44. Not a single other Oiler saw the ice after that
Although Perry got a lot of camera time, which was hilarious. *You’re not seeing the ice again tonight, pal
It’s not practical for Maurice to play the same way, just letting 5 guys play the full 2-1/2 minutes
So the second last shift, Bennett and Mikkola also had a 10 second shift. Quick rest for Barkov.

So weird to me. I’ve talked to some Oilers fans and asked them if they were cheering for the Flames in 2004, and of course they weren’t. Would a Yankees fan cheer for the Red Sox? Would a Michigan fan support Ohio? It’s preposterous. That’s just not how rivalries work!

Pulled out my Mathew Tkachuk Friendship Tour t-shirt to wear on game days during the final round.
I was running errands yesterday and I saw several Oiler t-shirts and jerseys out and about. As I was walking down the aisle in Canadian Tire and Oiler fan, probably in his 50s, looked at my shirt, got a disgusted look on his face and said "Oh, F#$k you!".
All I could do was grin. I wished I was chewing on a mouth guard at that moment.

My sister told me this morning she saw a segment on one of the Winnipeg news stations yesterday and pretty much everyone they interviewed were cheering for Florida because of Maurice.

I didn’t watch. Can some give a recap of why the shots totals for Florida as so low ? They have been the best at getting shots and suppressing shots all playoffs and season.
How did Forsling look?

Is there any video of that high stick call against the panthers? I was out watching the game with friends last night and in real time it looked like a legit penalty but in the one quick replay I saw it looked like the stick blade didn’t touch the visor.

My uncle in Edmonton, he treats both the Oilers and Flames as Alberta’s team.
I don’t get it. He cheers for us and the Oilers. He gets behind Canadian teams as well.
This has spilled over to my mom. She will always back a Canadian team. She hates the Americans lol. She loves being a Canadian. It’s crazy for me. She was texting me the Canadian flag yesterday before the game lol. Went to give her a high five that the Oilers lost and she say NO!
It’s sickening behaviour.

It does occur to me that if the Oilers win a championship, the ownership group might actually rethink the way they build teams…
If the Panthers win, they’ll think “we had a championship core and an idiot GM wasted it.”

I guarantee we see Oilers try and start crashing Bob. This is so the M O of greasy people.
Honestly the desperation is gonna be crazy to watch. If they're diving and snapping back heads already it makes me wonder who's encouraging it.
Seriously. HOF player on the bench and these are the shenanigan levels they'll stoop to?
The cats were flat flat flat and they couldn't beat them. They entirely beat themselves.
Watching the body language was like watching us the first time Otteranger was stopping everything and guys were just gutted.
Florida is just gonna get better and better each shift each game and if Edmonton really wakes them up.....ha ha ha .

Is there any sports league, where any fan would support their rival team winning a championship out of some geographic closeness brotherhood?
Would Man United fans be excited to see Man City win it all? Would the Red Sox love to to see the Yankees win, because they are both in New England?

Ekholm lifted Verhaeghe’s arm and then Bouchard leaned his visor into the stick blade.
