It would have been nice, but people like Pickton continue to get pleasure from knowing that he can continually make families suffer long after the fact.

“ CSC said the assailant has been identified and "appropriate actions" have been taken.”
Presumably they gave him a medal?

I have zero interest in the death penalty coming back to Canada. Look at the countries that currently use it…nuff said. Guys like this should never be given a shot at parole though. No hearings, nothing. He just rots in a jail cell forever. I wouldn’t even give them rec time. You’re just in the cell forever.
Throw in some toilet bowl cleaner once a month for him. Give him a weekly shower. Feed him three meals. But otherwise forget about him.
I also agree though, he was too stupid to act alone. Read the book On The Farm. Tremendous read.

Yeah, well, we’ll never know, right? But it’s cool that 6 families have some peace and 43 can just live with not knowing.

His trial was 17 years ago, if he had any interest in letting the families know he would have said something a long time ago.

Well the point is, there is now zero chance of some neuron firing in his brain and generating a morsel of remorse or regret and giving other families some kind of closure about what happened.
I guess we can agree to disagree. I still think it was a dick move and the guy who did it shouldn’t be given any prizes or rewards for doing it. Whatever faint glimmer of parole may have got him talking. Anyway, I doubt any families of missing women get any sense of relief, probably the opposite.

Ah! So you'd be fan of 'The Oubliette?"
Although for the most part, for people like Pickton, I agree with you.

Likewise. A couple years ago, Canada struck down the ability for people to be given true life in prison for multiple murders, i.e. consecutive life sentences, on the grounds of it being cruel and unusual punishment.
In the politics thread on this very forum I was somehow seen as a weirdo for believing that people who commit heinous crimes should be sentenced to life in prison without the possiblity of parole.

As I said before. I am no fan of Capital Punishment. I never have been and I hate it with a passion.
But I'm willing to consider exceptions.

Although in this case it seems like the other Prisoners have engaged in some 'Frontier Justice' so we dont have to worry about it.
Rot in Hell Bob. You won't be missed.

My friend told me about some rumour that Pickton was the fall guy for Hell's Angels, who used his farm to do their dirty work. Never heard that before.

But the victims were all at risk women. The Hells Angels would be getting rid of rivals and bad members. Doesn't really make sense to me.

They used to party at the farm and were seemingly more friends with Pickton’s brother. The book On The Farm goes into a lot of these details. I don’t know though that mass murder of sex trade workers is their MO though.

Hells angels would never use some losers land and be so sloppy with their killings.
They are meticulous when they decide they wanna kill someone.
