Marchand is out for tonight's game.
Pretty obvious Bennett knew what he was doing. Interesting to see how the Bruins respond tonight if the NHL isn't going to do anything about it, which doesn't look like they are. Be prepared for a gong show if the score gets lopsided either way.

I don’t think it’s “obvious.” He got his hand up bracing for a hit. If he was trying to pop Marchand his arm wouldn’t have turned into a wet noodle on contact.

Weird how nobody else ever punches someone in the face when they’re bracing for a hit. Ah prolly nothing more than a stroke of bad luck. Likely a situation where a guy who plays with an “edge” just got super unlucky on something that happens innumerable times a game but never seems to result in someone getting punched in the face.
Bennett will be invited to get tuned up early, have a lame fight where he takes down his opponent quickly to avoid getting worked over too badly, and it’ll be accepted he “answered the call”.

What I remember about the Ohlund fight was that Iginla stuck to punching to the body.

This one might turn into a blood bath.
But Bruins should probably focus on playing their game, they have been significantly outplayed in the last 2.

Yeah now seeing that from this angle, it definitely looks like a sneaky punch thrown in there with the hit. But it's Marchand so, Oh No! Anyway.

NHL discipline becomes more of a gong show with each incident, it seems like.

Clearly I need to stick to baseball. Bennett isn’t a dirty player who targets the body at all. People have a problem with Trouba, but no problem with Bennett, are clearly hypocritical. They both aim to take the body without regard for stealing the puck. It’s old school but it’s clearly not great for players health.

But these are the types of players who help you win in playoffs
We also have one of those on our team, in Kadri. Who plays right around that line.

You do realize the entire purpose of hitting is to separate a player from the puck, right? If you don't like hitting, then once again... https://www.mlb.com.
I don't know what else to tell you.
PS. If "take the body without regard for stealing the puck" is the reason you're upset about the Bennett hit... Marchand is the one that initiated it. He's literally the one that tried to "take the body without regard for stealing the puck" on that hit.
