They weren’t “firmly drafting 8th” when you looked at the schedule, or the results. There was just no losing to the Ducks last game or SJ, and AZ isn’t much better. And they managed to lose to Chicago, Buffalo and Anaheim running up to that.

No there isn’t. I would welcome that over the next 3-4 years though. This franchise desperately needs to add some young elite talent. The best way to do that is through the draft.

Go back 100 years of NHL drafts I guarantee you won't find a difference in 8th or 9th overall. We've been losing a lot we aren't going to lose every game.

Again, the schedule makes a difference. 2 of those games were against the worst teams in the league they could hardly help but win, and against a team that’s about equal in the standings you are asking players to actively throw a game?
