McDavid is Day to Day, its now gotta be at least 50/50 that McDavid doesn't even finish the season with the most assists.

Kucherov has 4 games left, he also has 11 assists in his last 4 games.

Kucherov 96, McDavid 99.

And to be completely honest - McDavid could finish with 100 assists and not be a Hart finalist.

Kucherov and Mackinnon are locks to be ahead of him in voting. Pasternak, Panarin, Matthews, Crosby (if Pit makes the playoffs), all arguably more valuable. And that's just looking at forwards.

That’s a given and to be fair if you look at the voting it’s nearly guaranteed that home media markets all prop up their guy. I’m interested to see how high the Edmonton media tries to prop up Bouchard for the Norris.

Edmonton is kicking themselves because they already had to put forward their Masterton Trophy nominee.

Matthews also needs to be on the list. Most goals in a season since Mario got 69 in in 1996. You have to think a lot of the eastern Canadian media will be banging that drum.

If Matthews can get 4 more goals in the last few games and hit that that 70 mark, it will be interesting conversation between 70 goals and 100 assists marks in a season. Especially, if Kucherov also hits that mark.

Most media throw a few lower votes for their guy but generally they vote for their actual opinion for the top votes. The problem is that McDavid is overrated by a lot of eastern media who don't watch except for highlights and just read counting stats.

I actually heard a media type saying this was a contest between McDavid and Matthews especially if Matthews hits 70 goals. Mackinnon and Kucherov were not even mentioned. Nor was Makar.
