Listened to Brzus interview with Pat on the Fan yesterday, he's very honest. I think he wanted a trade, he admits he was openly talking to his friends about how cool it would be to be traded. He didn't see much potential to make the Vancouver blueline but he does see it here in Calgary. He chose junior over college mainly to play more hockey and get more minutes. He seems very driven to make the NHL and be an impact player

I took in that interview with great interest.

He's honest with himself, too. He recognizes that it's his defensive game that needs the most work, and knows specific improvements he must make to be an NHL player.

He's very well-spoken and seems quite intelligent. I'm getting the impression that the coaches will love working with him.

Never said he sucks, what I did say was that I was disappointed he was included in the package and to temper expectations.

Good day for both organizations, the Flames signed Hunter while the Canucks announced that EP is on his way to Abbotsford and Wilander was named the the 2nd All Star team as a freshman.

Thank God we've got you here to tell us to temper our expectations.

It is hilarious how often fans of other teams feel the need to say that.

We should just keep drafting and trading for players we can't spell or pronounce, that would make for good entertainment on the boards at least.

Also Zanye is 17, whereas outside of Dickenson and Mews all the other top defenceman producers are 19 - 20.

Brzuce is doing amazing, but he is D+ now.

They're both one dimensional, highly skilled puck distributors. Not sure either are ever going to hit 115 points again.

Yeah ideally the team would have neither. Hopefully they learned those are not guys to commit that type of term and $$ to.
