Am I the only one that has a tough time following threads in FOI recently? I click on the thread and read for 3 pages and all the posts are about a totally different topic and the first 200 posts of the thread are about different tweets and rumours that aren’t even relevant anymore. So I end up just skipping to the last post. But then I’m behind on the topic because a bunch of news has been posted since the thread was created. Does that make sense? Because I’ve got no idea what’s going on.
This was the first year where we've had an insider group, it's changed the complexion of discussion. Could be fun if you have a job where you can browse CP quite often.
I find as someone without much free time to follow though it was really tough this year. I appreciate CP for being able to jump on and get caught up on Flames and NHL news. This deadline it was just insane amounts of guessing trades and player valuation, and guessing gifs and stuff.
Maybe I'm getting older, but I just couldn't get through it all, it's overwhelming if you're short on time.
It says right away that it’s not as big of a deal as it sounds. Then it goes on to say “…wealth was distributed more evenly across the 13 colonies than anywhere else in the world that we have record of.”
Slava, just to understand you, because I want to know if I'm wasting my time, are you taking position that both inequality is not at problematic levels?
The reason I ask is I don't want to get drawn into a rhetorical argument where you can simply claim victory if nobody can give you an exact number of wealth hoarded and the late 18th century France. If you want to discuss what the extreme wealth and equality today looks like versus the late 18th century and how maybe it's more tolerable today that's definitely a discussion that can be had.

lol, well a couple things. First, you posted an article and I was interested so I clicked. It just doesn’t seem to say quite what you’re saying? Second, I’ve got a million things to do today, so I don’t plan on arguing here.
I'm going to read this later, assuming I can get past the paywall, but I find it interesting.
Albeit, as something of an enthusiastic but amateur student of History I have a hard time believing that current day has a wider wealth Gap than Monarchical France.
I mean...have you seen the King's summer cottage in Versailles? Its kind of a big deal.

Fight back, reprogram them. Every time the door starts to open get your face right up to it and let out a massive cough(or if you can sneeze on command, even better). With any luck a few direct face hits will fix them.

My dream on long flights is they start reducing the amount of oxygen to the point everyone nods off and then they turn it up towards the end. Flight attendants have oxygen tanks to make rounds as needed otherwise they are in airlock spaces like the pilots. Calgary to Europe: pass out half an hour in, wake up with 90 mins to a meal being plunked down in front of you.
Not that it exists. I've made Peace with that long, long ago.

I don't even notice Daylight Savings Time.
Every piece of equipment that I own that tells time adjust automatically. My morning alarm clock? No problem. Phone? Hah! Of course! Computer? Are you kidding me with this? My fitbit watch? Of course. Even my Car adjusts for it.
What is the big deal? Its an hour.
I cant say that I like Daylight Savings Time. I cant say that I dislike it.

I know some people don’t like flying, but I want stay awake, looking outside, having free (sic) drinks, watching hours and hours of movies.
