Really is fascinating this thread is going on after this long.
Clearly a learning lesson for Conroy to make sure who he talks to about various situations is trustworthy.

He had one chat with the Devils about the price he was willing to pay for trading Markstrom, a month ago. There has been nothing changed on either sides, since that time.

That conversation and detail wasn't supposed to get out. It did and caused/forced an immediate reaction that the Flames had to manage as did Markstrom... then got Markstrom upset a week ago becuase it still wasn't shut down, now continued distraction...as no news has happened on the Devils side or on Markstrom going anywhere else since the original thing leaked...rumor continues because bored hockey insiders trying to stir up something to keep people clicking.
Obviously Dreger talked to Conroy or someone on the Flames today, and again, one side spewed out some things about Edwards etc, that again isn't supposed to get out or was hyperbole or just plain false, so TSN has to take it down at the request of Dreger or the Flames.

Treliving kept his mouth shut in these sorts of situations, as did Sutter or course, and this sort of thing is exactly why. The #### storm around Markstrom and the team this last month, because someone of the Flames blabbed something to someone for whatever reason, who couldn't keep it under their hat, as was expected, 4 weeks ago.
