Pointless move for the Leafs, even with Gio going down.

			Interesting history with this guy.
Coyotes trade him to the Leafs for a 2nd (essentially).
Leafs let him walk, he signs with the Sabres.
Sabres trade him to Anaheim for a 4th.
Anaheim trades him back to the Leafs for a 3rd.
Seems like the Leafs like paying a premium.

Edit: Ouch

Treliving copying Conroy's two team retention format the day after the Tanev trade is also funny.
 A little passive aggression?

Couldn't come up with this solution on his own?

Feels very Treliving...don't spend the assets for an actual impact piece, then waste assets on something that won't move the needle at all

That brings the Hurricanes up to 49 draft picks from 2020 to 2024. 9.8 picks per year. All while being one of the best teams in the league.

He did a lot of good in his time here, especially early on, but he loved blowing picks for non-impact pieces of the deadline.

I don't hate him like some Flames fans do, but that was always a bit frustrating.

Good or bad, this is something he loved to do. Pointless trades.

The fact that Carolina was willing to help facilitate this move tells me all I need to know. Hey if you promise to use him...well help you trade for him.

I'm not a big fan of those jfresh scorecards, but an overall score of 1% is pretty funny

So the Leafs have now paid a 2nd, 3rd and 6th to acquire him (twice). Nice
