Steinberg insisted yesterday on Flames Talk the leaks came from NJ side. In a convo with Francis - "You and I both know how hard it is to get any return texts from the Flames right now"

Given how many leaks end up on this board from posters, I have a hard time believing it’s hard to get texts back from the Flames right now.

Well, the Devils' plan failed. Keeping Markstrom in Calgary for the game against the team they are chasing while also leaking the trade info was a losing combo.

There’s none. Once he started my expectation for a trade went to zero for anything in the short term. I still think they were close on Thursday night though, why pull Markstrom and not Wolf. If anything the rookie should have been pulled quicker. My baseless speculation is that retention remained an issue
