Might be old news by now, but nhl.com projected line ups says Huska did not name a starting goalie today.

I have total faith that Holloway would turn his game around in another organization. He’s got too much talent, and is big, fast, and physical.
I would love to have him here.

Not impossible but I just don't think the Canucks do it. I think the organizational outlook is no one is giving a 1st for Tanev so wait for the Flames ask to come down and then reopen negotiations. However, if someone does pay it, circle back to Tanev July 1st.

Then we tell Tanev to sabotage them, ala Smith, and he re-signs with us at 4m per for 3 years. Extra year for the sabotage.

Why wouldn’t someone give a 1st? He’s one of the very best shutdown D in the game. People have paid higher prices for much worse defenceman at the TDL. If that’s the Canucks’ outlook, I guess the Flames will end up sending him elsewhere.

This is just pure imagination, but now that Wheeler is done for the season in NY, and Vesey is on the top line... would they look at moving Kakko for something like Mangiapane (50%) and Duehr? Eat Bread would be an immediate fan favorite in NY.

... I think the supposed lack of depth is overblown. Regardless if we're willing to take a future 1st I'd rather 2026 then 2025... 2026 has McKenna and Iginla the youngest.

I don't see what people see in Broberg and Holloway, other than being former first round picks. Neither have been able to make the Oilers roster full time, and I believe both lose their waivers exemption status next season. It could end up being 2 Valimaki situations for them next season. Just wait until next season and try to snag one on waivers.
Neither has done anything that impressive since being drafted.

If a deal is close no way Markstrom starts, that would be really poor asset management.

Well, I'm done with the trade stuff. I'll react when they're official.
