Why do people who don't like trade rumors read this thread? It's fun to speculate and discuss and get some tips from insiders.

I had no interest in the Morgan Rielly thing so I simply didn't read the thread.

I personally am reconsidering sharing any information going forward not because I’m afraid to be wrong but it takes an effort by those with information to come here and share it far less than it is for you to come and consume it.

I’ve seen every single one of us be questioned, targeted ect by a consistent group of the community. The only people you’re impacting is your peers on this forum. I can share the information with my friends, family ect and enjoy the same level of excitement as I’m sure many of you get reading it.

I don’t need a thank you thread or thanks on my post to keep me motivated to contribute, I do it because I was know how passionate this sites fanbase are about the Calgary Flames and it brings me joy to share information happening behind the scene because I too was once in the dark waiting for the media heads to grace us with information.

Enjoy your weekend.

I appreciate you sharing very much. Keep it up.

I dont claim to be much of an insider but I happen to have an acquaintance that is very much in the know. And because they are very much in the know, they are very professional about it. So if I do hear something, it’s tidbits from indirect sources but one I can’t just go and verify because I have relationships I want to honour. I shared last night that I got one of these tidbits from someone about there being real traction on a Markstrom trade. Today- there’s a bunch of indirect remarks made.

I’m not going to name someone and list their position. I’d cost them their job. It’s not worth the price of fandom. It’s a ridiculous ask by some on this board. The people working for the Flames in official capacities are Flames fans too. Sometimes they talk about a little something here and there. It’s not because they want to behave unprofessionally. They’re just being human.

So anyway- thanks for sharing Sec. You’re doing a great job.

Because some people can't tell the difference between rumour/speculation and breaking news.

It’s most likely that they have issues with it because they aren’t the centre of attention……. Typically

Maybe the flames have reconsidered trading Markstrom after that terrible performance from Wolf?

I’d hope not. Long term plans shouldn’t change basis one game from a rookie goalie

I doubt that. Wolf's performance does not change the trajectory of this team in the near future. It was just one bad game by a very young goalie.

A 2 game NHL showing is nothing to bet the future on. Especially at Wolf's age.

Hope not. Wolf was literally thrown to the wolves last night. Whole team look shook as well, highly doubt they'd reconsider. It's a smart move this trade. Long term and for the now.

I'm also very confident the Flames see what's happening on the ice as well. Markys remarkable play has been masking some very bad things from the group in front of the goaltending. And that unfortunately has to be addressed . Markys trade is just a small piece of the puzzle to get the entire organization up to perennial contendership.

I'm sure I'm lumped into that 15% because of my position on the gif posts, but I appreciate the information you bring to the table. The cryptic gif files initially rubbed me the wrong way, but they've grown on me, especially when you use a clever image that really foreshadows what's ahead (the cowboy riding off into the sunset was brilliant). You bring information that is not culled from a twitter feed, or another site, or a blog somewhere, so that is always welcomed IMO. You represent the information honestly and that is all we can ask for. Keep doing what you're doing. You and rasta give us some extra insight to the inner workings of the team and that is appreciated.

Yes- Markstrom is having a Top 3 Goalie in the NHL type of season and yet the Flames are not even in a wild card spot.

The 3-4 guys around him ?

Jets - Hellebuyck
Canucks - Demko
Vegas - Hill
Bruins - Ullmark

Those teams are tops in the NHL.

My guess is the team decided to trade Markstrom prior to yesterday’s game. And the team was playing horribly because they just found out. I think that’s why Markstrom was spending extra time with the fans, taking in the scene prior to yesterday’s game.

Is Vanecek even allowed being traded right now, since he's injured?
