No, I think he's implying failure as the Spartans ultimately lose.

Just make me proud Craig and get a haul for all our pieces - including Markstrom.
If we trade Markstrom, Hanifin, Tanev, and 1 more piece before the deadline for good returns, then Conroy # 22 is my next jersey! It can replace my Tkachuk and Lindholm ones.....I'll wear those skiing.

Days not over but I fully thought because of all of the smoke last night it was going to happen today.
Ah well. Gotta control the giddy excitement of the big changes.

Tkachuk trade broke on a late friday night evening, so anything can still happen today

Feels related but the Kyper show was discussing the Flames' trade pieces and had a former head scout on talking about how this draft doesn't live up to the past couple ones, and that's why you're seeing (and may see) notable prospects going ALONG with 1sts, like in the Lindholm deal. Apparently it's pretty well known among NHL scouts that the drop off is a little steeper and a little earlier this year.
I still have the utmost faith in our scouting staff to make the most out of any late 1st round picks, but we could very well be looking at them trying to trade up with multiple firsts that they get back in order to draft quality.
