This team, however, is totally different. I actually like the attitude coming from guys like Hughes and Pettersson. Both seemed to be prioritizing actually playing good hockey to win games. The fans seem different too. A lot more humble, with most taking the wins as they come. As opposed to the previous iteration that would constantly tell you how "elite" various parts of the team were.

Yup, you can't understate how obnoxious Canucks fans were in those days. You'd see them on the C-train heading to the game when the Canucks were in town. They even out-obnoxioused* Oiler fans. Who knew that was even a possibility?

The worst aspect of the Canucks was always the fanbase.
With the oilers it was the organization first and foremost followed by the media (which is just an extension of the team since they're bought)

 Rude.

Edit- Depending how things go this weekend, with the all-star game, there is a chance that Elias Lindholm will get some great bonding time with the Canucks PP1 as Hughes, Pettersson, Miller and Boeser all at the event and comprise the other four players from the unit.

I'm quite excited.

I wonder if Zary gets a shot at center. Maybe not this year, but next year?

The best thing was the amount of sadness on the Skytrain after the 8th seeded Kings bounced them from the playoffs!

I don't think it is a coincidence the only person I saw get drunk (from a smuggled in mickey of Jägermeister) and fall from the 300s to the 200s was a Canuck fan.

I typically don't watch the Oilers play but I would be tickled pink to watch the Canucks smack them down in a playoff series this year. If Lindholm plays an integral part? All the better!

That's probably true. His ask was 12 million a year for Calgary. But he was willing to do it!

When he was hired, I was livid. Now, he's my favourite coach since Vigneault.

Call me crazy, but the highest bid for Lindholm will be 7x7. And it might be from the Flames.

Wonder who takes Lindholm’s spot as the drop back option on the entries for the first powerplay? Even back to the Gaudreau days, he was always the other option on the entry. This year, it’s been him and Sharangovich. The typical design with that entry is that you want a right-hand shot and a left-hand shot to skate up the ice together… I think that means it will be Kuzmenko. Not just because he has good hands but because the flames don’t have many other right-hand shot options for the puck carrying role… Coronato is really the only other option if he gets called up again this season.

If he's willing to do 7x7 don't be shocked if the Canucks take a major run at re-signing.
