I'll take that over year-round bloviating about how their loser squad of scumbags and divers are the children of destiny.

I'd leave Pospisil on the Kadri line with Zary. That line hasn't been the same since he got injured.

I agree. They are a pretty fun team. I quite like Boeser, Hughes, Pettersson.

Well, it only makes sense.

If they rioted over rainy weather, they'd never get to go home.

The Oilers and Leafs, and their respective fans, are orders of magnitude more insufferable than the Canucks. It's not even a contest. If I didn't already know that the Canucks were doing so well, I wouldn't have guessed. It's actually been pretty quiet from them IMO (maybe like us, they are just too jaded and traumatized from so many years of past failure to get too excited, always waiting for the other shoe to drop).

You can imagine what the crayon-eating bozos cheering for those other two teams would be like in the same position.
True story:

Canucks games in that era were the games for which the Flames had to add the most extra security of any opposition.

Like I said, that squad and its fans were awful, just completely off the wall obnoxious despite never winning squat. The Oilers have been all too happy to assume that mantle.

I guess I only have so much hate in my body, in my old age. All of it is directed at that goon squad up north. I don't have the energy to hate the Canucks for something that happened 13 years ago.

That Kessler/Burrows era team was atrocious. Not just their "tough guys", but also their strategy and style of play. Draw penalties via diving then cycle on the PP. That team was so universally hated that everyone outside of Vancouver was cheering on Marchand as he punched Sedin in the face. The fans were equally obnoxious to the Canucks team itself. It was as though they'd adopted the Burrows attitude.

This team, however, is totally different. I actually like the attitude coming from guys like Hughes and Pettersson. Both seemed to be prioritizing actually playing good hockey to win games. The fans seem different too. A lot more humble, with most taking the wins as they come. As opposed to the previous iteration that would constantly tell you how "elite" various parts of the team were.

Good deal by Conroy.

It's really about the picks and Hunter Brzustewicz. Which is a nice haul. If you redid the 2023 draft, Hunter would easily be a mid/late first rounder.

As for the rest, Kuzmenko will be equal parts entertaining and infuriating for a season. Jurmo will never play in the NHL.

But most of all, it screws the Oilers. Nice trade.

Actually, any mental gymnastic there is "ricardodw", you're here long enough to know that. How can you miss it?

Oh to be clear, I don't mind the Canucks at all now.

This is me too, I just can't hate enough anymore to spread it out beyond the Oilers.
If the Canucks, Jets or even Leafs won the cup, I wouldn't be bothered.

But I understand any fans who feel differently, as I once did too and can understand that level of anti-rival passion.
I just don't have it in me anymore; I guess I'm getting soft.

Agreed, but Lindholm gets the opportunity to get eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

IDK about that. He mentions Vlad ahead of Mark. I think we do see Markstrom traded

I'm pumped to see what Kuzmenko can do for the powerplay.

Seriously, SN better be good to Steinberg. That guy is a complete beauty. Obviously, he took the lead last night while on vacation to cover the trade, but just now, he made a guest appearance on Kyper and Bourne to talk about the trade. Big fan of his work ethic and dedication.

Lol you want three? So a third heartbreaking playoff loss and subsequent trashing of the city?

You guys really are a special breed.

Made sense with PDO to lean into it, not so much with riots.
