Hating them would give them more credit than they deserve. They're just another random team to me.

Sorry if this has been posted. Conroy said he knew Lindholm wasn't coming back last summer. He mentioned the Scheifele deal, implying that was the Flames number, but Lindy had a different number in mind
A few teams/managers offers were close.
Get the better of the Devils or Canucks 4th round pick.
Center ice is a huge hole. Backs and Kadri will get a lot of center ice time (duh). Schwindt, Rooney. maybe Pospisil, others will get a shot.
He wants to personally scout the top 40 prospects on the list. Mentioned the Beanpot tournament in Boston coming up.
Willing to use three salary retention spots for other deals.

What do you mean? A few pointed out an 8 year deal at his price was well worth it as he could be the next Patrice. Only a few months later he was proven not to be worth that term or price long term.

I'm pointing out that quantity doesn't make it a haul or an extremely good deal if the quantity has little value.
A late 1st and Brzustewicz for Lindholm is pretty much how Id' sum it up.
Kuzmenko is a cap dump for the Canucks and where Calgary is in their window will be irrelevant to them in the long term which is why I think they deal him before he becomes another distraction for them.
|
Just because he was a cap dump for Van doesn't mean that he doesn't hold value for us/someone else if he doesn't fit into our long term plans. You even mention his value in the second bolded part, unless we deal him for "future considerations" which I highly doubt.

A goal would be scored every shift, just hope it's more on visitors net

It's funny reading how many times posters simply write off Kuzmenko as a 'cap dump', like he won't even suit up for the team or something, like he's non-existent. He may not be fantastic, but he does have skill and hopefully he plays well enough for the Flames to be able to flip him next year for something else.
He'll play a lot, and a lot on the PP. That 'cap dump' is still a decent player, and in short, an asset. Shouldn't write him off like he's nothing.

I did, because Blaster is defending the position that the Flames received a good return in this trade...

I like it! I believe Pospisil is pretty good at face-offs, as well. Needs continued work but he is strong on the dot.

Look further. Like the Oilers it's more the fans than the players.

I think Kuzy will outscore Lindholm the rest of the season actually.

Every fanbase has its share of idiots, but I don't see Vancouver having any more or less than the average team. 2011 was a different beast, that team and its fans at the time were truly reprehensible.
The Oilers and Leafs, and their respective fans, are orders of magnitude more insufferable than the Canucks. It's not even a contest. If I didn't already know that the Canucks were doing so well, I wouldn't have guessed. It's actually been pretty quiet from them IMO (maybe like us, they are just too jaded and traumatized from so many years of past failure to get too excited, always waiting for the other shoe to drop).
You can imagine what the crayon-eating bozos cheering for those other two teams would be like in the same position.

I mean playing horrible for a few months does that...people were willing to give last season a pass but when its a season and a half without Gaudreau and he is still terrible its tough to say that Gaudreau didn't carry him for his entire Flames tenure. Offensively I mean.

It's because they have sucked for years...they go on any kind of run and guys will come out of the woodwork. Oiler fans didn't ruin Flames home games when the team was bad for a decade, there would be a few sitting quietly, sometimes with bags on their heads.

I expect a very green, sustainable riot this time from Vancouver fans.
