As a gay, can we move on from talking about Kuzemenko's pride jersey stance? It is what it is. I want him to rebound, score a ton of goals and then get flipped next year for even more picks/propsects. I don't give a ###### about what he thinks about me and my kind.

Brzustewicz is the exact type of prospect Pronman wouldn't like. He generally does not have any time for defenders under 6'2".

Frankly, I agree with the article. Lindholm is exactly what the Canucks needed to fill the weakest spot on their roster, and there really wasn't anyone else on the market who would be as good in that role.
They gave up a hell of a lot of future to get him, but that's a luxury you have when you're on top of the league in the present.

For a guy who is completely disinterested in a contract year and has brought nothing in the playoffs other than Game 1 against the Avs? Gaudreau carried him and Chucky against Dallas.

They ate a contract and player that Vancouver didn't want and the Flames were compensated with one of the prospects or picks. It's a good futures package but hardly the haul suggested from some of the other teams. We should be happy with it and hope Lindholm goes to Vancouver and continues his uninspired play, dragging the Canucks back into a wild card slot, for the best 1st possible, but helping them lose in the conference finals and securing that third round pick.
|
Ok ok, let me walk that back somewhat. Upon closer inspection (these are loafers), seems like the strongly prevailing view is that it was a fluke and that all of the sudden he’s a cap dump. Fair - and I haven’t followed him very closely. But he scored 39 goals last season which is being completely written off. What am I missing? Honestly wondering.

He was highly touted from the KHL for a reason, this isn't a one year wonder scenario. He's been a solid player outside the NHL for many years. I wouldn't write him off after half a season on a deep Canucks squad.
|
Totally. The best part is that Calgary has what equates to a full year to see what they have in Kuzmenko and sell him after a potential rebound.
He's a warm body with a chance to turn things around in a new environment with improved opportunities. Although he's a bit older it really feels like another Sharongovich like gamble for Conroy that can really pay off.
Kuzmenko at a 20-20 pace this time next year could fetch something even more than Toffoli.

I view the 39 goals last year as a big fluke so yeah.
I see him as maybe a 50ish point guy going forward assuming he gets top six ice time + big PP time, and is a guy that doesn't care about playing a two way game.

I think that the additions of Brzustewicz of Jurmo fill a gap in the system, so that is a big positive. No bluechip prospects, but fills gaps. The first is going to help if they can turn that into a solid prospect. There's potential here.

I mean, come on.
This return is WAY more than what you were preaching.

Lindholm really has to pull up his boots now.
He's going to a team with aspirations with fans that can be brutal and they wont take kindly to this year's Lindholm over there.
He also needs to help their cause if they should clash with Bumonton.
A lot more pressure on him now.

Now that I have heard more about the trade I think it's a good trade for both. Vancouver really wanted to move on from Kuzmenko and Calgary was there to take a chance on a guy that they can perhaps flip for something later on if he returns to form. For taking Kuzmenko they got a good prospect in Brzus and change on top of the 1st rounder that was expect for Lindholm.

This year his shooting percentage has gone back to normal and he has been a drag on the Canucks cap. His production is very disappointing considering he's still been on the 1st PP all season.
I feel like the Flames should have gotten a 1st + for Lindholm and a 1st for taking Kuzmenko. I see him as a worse player than Monahan who the Flames traded a 1st to dump.
Also, if the Flames are now in the business of helping their Canadian rivals, I wish they would have sent Lindholm to the Oilers instead.
|
Just wait till we send Markstrom to the Avs, Hanifin to Dallas and Coleman to the Jets!
But realistically don't sweat it man, it won't concern you. If the no goods can win 15 in a row, they can lose 15 in a row too.

I ask that even if I'm assuming either of the quoted terms in your reply. I've never interacted with any member of the community that disapproves of these events other than the corporate pandering, which is understandable. Most of them see it as a necessary eyeroll towards inclusivity and awareness.
But that's just anecdotal...
|
1. It's the corporate part for sure but I think from what I'm hearing that's a much bigger can of worms that needs more attention in another time and place.. there a multitude of facets in that alone.
2. Some business owners (LGBT) have removed the iconography from their establishments because they believe it's no longer a sign of inclusion.
Other just want to be. And don't much like the attention.

Alls I know is that the Jersey stitchers are PISSED!
Do you know what Z's cost and how much of a pain in the ass they are? And Conroy just added 3 of them!!
Oh he's gettin' an earful from the slaves in the basement that put namebars on Jerseys tomorrow on that you can bet your ass!

It's interesting that they were trying to include Tanev in the deal, but Conroy thought he could get more in a separate deal. It makes me think that there are already concrete offers on the table. It also indicates that Tanev is on the table, in case there was any doubt.

I think he has over-corrected. There was a time where he highly rated smallish skilled dmen. And then few of them made it, so now he's swung the other way a bit.
Though his comments were totally negative. I thought it was a pretty balanced take.

More importantly, it’s a vital territory to control if you want the 7 army bonus for holding Asia.

Agreed, although just for fun I decided to take a look back at how he rated the Rangers' farm system in 2019:
1. Kakko
2. Kravtsov
3. Fox — with many of the same qualifiers about Brzustewicz.
Oops!
