One more thing. If they sign Votto, it’d totally be a PR move. At his age and two seasons being bad, I don’t agree with bringing him here anymore. Little chance he rebounds. Bring him as a coach, sure.

Reports are that he is hated by a ton of his former teammates. We don’t need a locker room cancer who’s on the wrong side of 30 and hasn’t pitched in that majors for a couple of years.

Pass. Pass. Pass.

Just because he’s not charged doesn’t mean he’s a nice guy or anyone I want on my team. Plus as Ben said he’s wrong side of thirty and likely not good anymore.

Both of you may very well be right. But he’s saying the right things now and his upside is great. He wasn’t injured before he left so his ability is likely there. Japan isn’t a subpar place to play. On a team with reclamation projects with much less upside I think he has a great chance of being great.

If the Jays sign Bauer. I will no longer be a Jays fan.

Dude is an internet troll who goes after trans people, promotes anti semitic conspiracy theories, and picks fights with those who disagree with him. Reports are that the majority of his former Dodger teammates didn’t want him back at all. He threw a ball out of the ballpark when he was pulled from a game.

He’s not worth it.

Yeah Bauer is a grade A weenie. Sucked to see the success he had. Hard pass.

In other news. Former Blue Jay and tight pants grunter Robbie Ray has been traded to the Giants. Curious to see how he rebounds after his injury.

That's exactly why I want him on the Jays. I want him to blow up when Schneider tries to pull him too early over some stupid analytics. If Bauer was on the Jays last year, there would have been drama in the dugout when they tried to pull Berrios which would have been a good thing.

I don't trust main stream media headlines. He is on the "Right side" of the ideological spectrum so he gets a lot of hate from main stream media. I trust my own eyes and ears. You can judge Bauer for yourself as he has a lot of Youtube content; you can watch hours of him interacting with teammates and friends. Mookie Betts came out in support of Bauer in October. The Jays could use some attitude and Bauer would fit right in with the Bautista/Donaldson era Jays.

If it’s all about how good someone is on the field, why don’t we just buy low on Wander Franco? I’m sure he could be had for pennies/Dominican pesos right now.

Franco would be the perfect addition if the Jays were playing in the California Penal League.

Too bad Franco did a lot more than just stealing a car. I doubt he'll be playing baseball in whatever prison he ends up in.

Franco deserves whatever is coming to him. I’m sure prison in the Dominican is horrific.

It’s about standards. My standards are that a man with a history of anti-Semitic, racist, bullying, and transphobic posts and two serious allegations from different women (even if it didn’t meet the threshold of criminal charges) and teammates who despised him enough to like the Instagram post announcing his release from the Dodgers isn’t a guy that should ever wear the Blue Jays jersey regardless of his talent.

While I'm not familiar with the bold portion, the women thing was complete fabrication (the text messages are out there). Not quite fair to just go by what was put out there by those hucksters.

Two different cases here. Franco won't be eligible to play for the next little while, while he's locked up. If it was proven that the allegations were false (not saying it is) with supporting evidence, then why wouldn't I want him on the team eventually? Doesn't mean I would trust these individuals around my family depending on the news that comes out, but from a talent perspective and the cost, I don't have much of a problem especially if certain things were proven to be false. Again, not saying it is in Franco's situation, because we don't know the story.

Google is your friend. Use it.

My post was wrong - there were four separate women making accusations. Can you please show me the text message evidence that all of the other women’s accusations were fabricated? I definitely googled and didn’t see any.

Hey, I'm not saying any athlete is a saint. I actually think most are dbags if we only seen their lifestyles. Anyway, Bauer was a troll more than anything and just didn't conduct himself professionally from the tweets I seen out there. Really like an immature kid trying to prove a point. As for the 4 women, to my knowledge, the one that went to court was shown to be false. What happened to the other 3? Was he charged? I can't find anything on it.
