2024 All Star Game
One all star will be announced from each team tomorrow, leaving the fans to vote for the final 12 slots (3 per division).
I’m not a big fan of the “every team needs to be represented” idea, but no one asked me. So…
Who do you think the Calgary player should be?

Markstrom. Best Flame lately.
I feel like giving any Flames skater an "All Star" title at this point is almost a mockery of the term and encourages their crappy play. They ran a coach out of town to play even worse. Kadri has been good lately, but nothing like what he was before he signed that big contract. Naming Kadri an All Star for almost playing up to his contract seems absurd. In the words of Chris Rock "that's something you're supposed to do".
Zary deserves a spot on the all rookie team. Do they still do that any more? Who cares, it's the all star game. The funnest part used to be the skills competition, when players were genuinely trying to shoot the hartest for bragging rights. Now the players don't even care and many won't even go to the game unless it's somewhere where they get a sweet free vacation to.

Tough one. I thought perhaps Markstrom, thinking Demko would be one goalie and the other a toss up. However, I think Hill or Talbot should probably get the nod.
Coleman would be a nice tip of the cap for a good season. I honestly would go with Backlund, given what he is asked to do, but that won't happen.

I don't think Backlund has ever made it. Just having him make Mangiapane relevant again should make him an all-star.

My guess is Kadri again. If not, the there's a few options. I'd like Zary to be the guy though. IMO he's the one who came in and got these guys rolling.
