Anyone know how much salary cap we'd get back if Hurberdeau's contract was terminated? Just curious.

I’m no fan of Huberdeau, but this thread has hit the absolute depths to the point of being sickening.

That is also an accurate description of Huberdeau’s play this season.

yet it didn't help Chicago did it? he was worth his cap hit.
His allergy was getting worse yearly. Once it became clear Chicago was no longer going to be in contention, it simply wasn't worth it for him to put up with the allergy any more.
The insurance company approved it, they don't just hand out money easily.

This thread has now officially jumped the shark. Deserves termination. (The thread, that is...Hubey has a valid contract that is unlikely to be terminated by anyone with half a brain)

Either way both are pretty disgusting statements, the whole path of forcing someone out of their legit contract by making light of mental health issues is pretty sad.

You have to admit...if it were framed within the context of an 'Ernest Gets Kicked out of the NHL' movie it'd be a pretty funny premise.
I'm just chuckling at the concept of 'finding a crooked psychologist.'
Like, what? He has an office in the back of a 7/11 Men's Room just chain-smoking darts alone in the dark with a psychology degree from American Samoa? You envision Conroy like...tip-toeing in there late one night?
"For $500 I'll declare he's depressed...for $1000 I'll declare him legally insane! Do you have any quarters for the condom machine?"
Come on...even at the outset, this is a hare-brained scheme at best. Its Looney Tunes. I cant take it seriously.

If it was terminated for cause, all of it. If you are asking about about a buyout, Capfriendly has a calculator, and it's not much.
People need to stop with the "get out of jail free" nonsense scenarios.

I think Huby is here to stay, and the only other scenario is we take on another contract that is just as long, with a player just as unproductive.
In this situation, I'm happy to keep the guy who we know is trying to work hard to push through this. If we can snag some top young talent in the next year or two, who knows - maybe they spark up some chemistry.
It's time people just accept the situation with #10.

How about get out of jail at a price?
What would it take to make his contract tradable?
Attaching Wolf or a 1st round pick? More?
Is Huberdeau for Seth Jones realistic one for one?

But why do this?
We aren't going anywhere in the short term anyway - just let him play.
Solutions will become more palatable over time

Just curious what the likely cost would be.
I agree it's probably best to do nothing, but would still be interested in knowing.

It would cost us some of the assets we are trying to acquire

I doubt Jones waives to come here so that deal is likely dead right off the bat.
I don't think that giving up a first or even second is worth it to move him, as bad as the contract is we aren't going to be competing for anything that we should need the cap space for the length of the deal.
