How long can these bowls keep lasting? Attendance is looking very sparse on a lot of them. FSU has over 20 players skipping the biggest non-CFP bowl. What's going to happen next year with a 12 team playoff that will make the bowls even more meaningless?

Once the powers that be allowed the storied Beef-o-Brady Bowl to go under we all knew where this was going.

This Pop-Tarts Bowl used to be the Blockbuster Bowl.

Someone should eat a pop-tart out of a VHS cassette sleeve

They already had a lot going on with the trophy and the winner got to eat the mascot.

The announcer had his first pop tart on the air. They really got some mileage out of that sponsorship.

It was the Cheez-Its bowl the past few years (it's currently sponsored by the Kellogg conglomerate) - they used to dump a bowl full of Cheez-Its on the winning coach instead of Gatorade and teams would be snacking while celebrating the trophy presentation. It's almost become more entertaining watching the post game stuff than the game itself.

I went to the pre-game parade with my kids last year. It was a lot of fun!

The Gator Bowl really should make the losing team have to fight live gators.

I see why FSU is trying to bail on the ACC. May as well be the mountain west.

Not sure what this game tells us about the Big 10 and the SEC.

I also appreciated Faizal Khamisa using a Pop-Tart as a pocket square for the game today.

Considering 100% of the players responsible for passing touchdowns and 90% responsible for rushing touchdowns this season aren’t even playing I’m not surprised.

I think they only have a couple regular starters actually playing.

But yeah FSU deserved to be in the top four. Joke team once they lost their starter from a mediocre (football) conference.

Edit: Georgia had no reason to try hard either and still annihilated them.

Well if "deserved" mattered then it would appear leaving Georgia out of the playoff was a mistake, I think they are pretty clearly one of the top four teams. They'd probably crush Texas and likely Washington too. But they didn't earn it because they didn't win their conference and there were enough power five conference winners with the same or fewer losses to keep them out.

No it’s clear they rewarded the conference championship teams. Also the narrative of Bama and Texas meant you couldn’t really justify leaving Texas out and putting Bama in. If Alabama had lost to someone else I think you’d have seen Georgia in instead of Texas. Washington and Michigan were locks because of undefeated plus SoS. Anyway with FSU and Louisville we can see that the ACC is just not in the same league as the other four football wise.

lol, FSU was missing 20 of their best players. They pretty much sent their second team.
