Flames showed great composure with the lead, and bowing but not breaking while being dominated for stretches. Great to see Backlund leading with a GWG on the penalty kill.

That is the M we need. Was his best game this season. Great second half, truly entertaining. GFG. Gritty win. Loved it over the cats.

The only way to make the Flames' power play score is to put out fewer men than the opposing team. You'd think Savard would have figured this out by now.

How bad is Huberdeau? So bad that it is now officially legal to whack him in the face with your stick.

And then we have Coleman, who can't hit an empty net for a trivial reason like getting tripped and knocked on his arse. The only reason that counted as a goal is that the referee had a brain aneurysm and took pity on him. I know it was a brain aneurysm, because nothing else on this earth can cause a referee to feel pity.

And of course they didn't even show up for the shootout. I mean, literally.

Markstrom was a beast.

That was an ugly win. But they all count.

1 point out of the playoffs

Clutch win by the Flames. Then there's Markstrom with a supreme effort in goal.

First game of Beastlund this year!

Guess he really wanted to stick it to his old teammate who forced his way out for greener pastures.

Markstrom in and we win!

It's great to get both Tanev and Markstrom back. I always enjoy winning against ex-Flames and tonight is not an exception.

I think the way to fix the pp is to have Rasmus stand at our own blue line during the pp.

It was good but Stolarz seemed to lose his net. There was a lot of room and he hadn’t faked to his left at all.
