Do it. Doooooo iiiiiittttttt.
Only concern is would a L8ndholm trade affect Sharangovichs play because he's clicking on Lindholms line right now.

Is this the Canucks asking for Tanev?

It would be interesting because you wouldn't have to retain on Lindholm likely if you're taking back Johansen...
But then you could retain on Johansen and I feel like Johansen at $2M could potentially have some value to somebody too.

Johansen, Ritchie and a 1st would be a terrific return. If that was on the table for Lindholm in his current form, I'd take it and run.

Only thing I'd prefer is a worse team being interested.
I'd love if a Bubble team would give us a pick more in the 14-18 range than the Avs pick which is likely to be like 25-32.

Callum Ritchie makes up the difference in pick range IMO.

Fair - although I'm also assuming a competing package would also include a similar level prospect.
My example would be:
Capitals 1st + Cristall + Oshie/Mantha
vs
Avs 1st + Ritchie + Johansen

Cristall > Ritchie imo, but point stands. I like Ritchie.

I doubt there are many "worse teams" whose pick would be better than the combo of the Avs first plus Ritchie. They will all be PO teams and I don't think there's a big difference in draft prospects from, say, 25-32.

I think the Capitals, as suggested above, with AO and them seeming to care about him more than the team, are the one example of a team that could be an option.
In the summer a Colombus may have been an option but now they are obviously too far out.
Outside of that you are probably right the Colorado pick is close to enough to any other realistic option it won't matter too much.

I don't see the Caps wanting Lindholm that much.

Yeah when I look at teams in the mix that could be interested I think these could be potential packages, all these teams find themselves in the top 9 of their respective conferences right now.
Ordered by highest in standings to lowest in standings.
Picks 22-32
Rangers: 1st (NYR 2024) + Othmann (if lucky maybe Perreault)
Boston: 1st (BOS 2025) + Lysell
Detroit (Boston Pick): 1st (BOS 2024) + Wallinder (if lucky maybe Sandin-Pellika)
Los Angeles: 1st (LA 2024) + Turcotte/Bjornfot
Jets: 1st (WPG 2024) + Lambert/Lucius
Colorado: 1st (COL 2024) + Ritchie/Gulyayev
Picks 15-22
Flyers: 1st (FLA or PHI 2024) + Bonk
Washington: 1st (WSH 2024) + Cristall
Islanders: 1st (NYI 2024) + Wahlstrom
Blues: 1st (STL 2024) + Stenberg/Lindstein
If the ask is a 1st and a top prospect then those are probably the types of packages you might have on the table from teams I think could be interested in a center.

Didn't see this posted yet. Not really saying much but starting feel like there is more smoke around Colorado.
Seravalli
“I know a lot of people… got [excited] over the weekend when they saw that the Colorado Avalanche had exactly the requisite cap space to land someone like Elias Lindholm. I do think the Avs were one of the teams that have checked in on Lindholm as the year has gone on. I don’t think the Avs have presented themselves to this point as more serious as anyone else but, nonetheless, a situation to watch.”

Hopefully we come away with an extra first rounder for Lindholm, and a an extra first rounder for Hanifin.
Bonus points if they can get one for Tanev too.
If you can get any sort of pick for Duehr or Greer you take the picks and run.

If Hanifin and Lindholm don’t return firsts or equivalents then Conroy failed.

Honestly you need to move Hanifin, Tanev and Lindholm first.
But after than any of Duehr, Greer, and Ruzicka should be on the move too. Maybe Dube too if the return is good, but don't sell low on him.
This organization has young depth at forward, and should be moving out the extra pieces.
Lindholm, Duehr, Greer, Ruzicka out
Coronato, Pelletier, Klapka, Kerins/Pettersen in. And that doesn't even consider that you might get a young forward in return in a trade for Hanifin/Lindholm/Tanev.

I prefer to think of it as:
Lindholm:
- 1 asset from pick 20 - 47
- 1 asset from pick 40 - 64 from 2021 - 2024
Hanafin
- 1 asset from pick 20 - 47
- 1 asset from pick 33 - 64 from 2020 - 2025
- 1 asset from pick 96 - 128 from 2020 - 2025

If your starting point is a 2nd then you are not aiming high enough. Lindholm and Hanifin not returning a 1st would be about the lowest I can remember players of their calibre going for in a long time.
My secret hope is that Buffalo stands in for Lindholm or Hanifin. Their 1st would be about the best the Flames can get.
