Yeah, but they also previously said they “despised” that draft. The not trading up was why. I don’t see how that’s the case unless they had the opportunity to do that. If they said they were very opposed to trading down as they did at the time, that’s understandable, though it worked out great.

Zary is great and fighting through the NHL learning curves as rookie is tough...but full credit to Kadri and Pospsil for being the right mix for him too.

Kadri seems to be a bit selective last year as to who he likes to play with, and Zary makes his cut, a skilled player where Kadri (thinks he) doesn't have to be the only skill on a line. And Pospsil who will bang and crash (again, something Kadri likes having help with) and help give Zary the space he needs.

It bothered me how much the coaching staff of that World Junior team was always going back to Holloway in place of Zary. Holloway kept showing little to no offensive skills and plays in the offensive zone were constantly dying on his stick. Meanwhile Zary - in very limited minutes - seemed to always be producing scoring chances for team Canada.

Huska alluded to it before, but Kadri is a guy that likes to communicate with his line mates and organizes a lot of what is going on. When one veteran player is doing this with other veterans, I can see how it might seem overbearing and not click. Like if Kadri is telling Huberdeau what to do on the ice, how much of that is just going to be ignored. But when you have a rookie or two in the mix, they are probably more likely to follow him.

Could also be that Kadri knew his input would not be welcomed by veterans and therefore clammed up, to his own detriment and the team's.

At this point, Zary (let alone Kadri) should be able to tell Huberdeau how they're going to play.

Also for those that don't know she's doing a home town show at Cowboys Tent on the first Friday of Stampede. Pretty cool for a 20 year old.

Kiesza as talented as she is, is more of a one hit wonder with all due respect.

As for the hockey game nice win. Always good when the Flames win and Oilers lose.
Kiesza was in a pretty bad accident where she suffered fairly significant head injuries that derailed things for her for a couple of years. It would be nice to see her make a bit of a comeback.

Like on his 3rd period goal yesterday, Kadri yelled “go north” to Zary

I think I heard that it affected her ability to dance which was a huge part of her music and live shows. She stepped back and made less mainstream music in that healing time.

Which in this new social media climate with a million new artists per month is death for a pop singer.
