The Bears have Cleveland, Arizona, Atlanta, and Green Bay left. They have a shot to get to 8-9. I still think there's a chance three NFC teams get into the playoffs with thatvrecord.

Makes the meltdowns against the Broncos and Lions tough to swallow. With some better coaching this team had a shot to be 7-6 right now

I did get a couple scenarios where the ESPN playoff machine has the following teams finish at 8-9.

Tampa Bay
Atlanta
New Orleans
Chicago
Green Bay
Minnesota
New York
Los Angeles
Seattle

Obviously some strange results have to happen, but it would befit the season for the standings to finish like this.

Tampa, Minnesota, and the Giants claimed the 4-6-7 seeds in the scenario I ran.

If anything that would make the final Sunday of the regular season have a crazy amount of games with playoff implications.

Adjusting a few results I can get also get 9 teams in the AFC finishing with 9-8 records plus the NFC. Including the highly likely 3 teams in the AFC East at 9-8. In this case Buffalo claims 4, Pittsburgh, Indy, Cleveland end up in the 5-6-7 spots.

So hopefully the AFC is also chaotic.

We need a Tommy DeVito Super Bowl MVP run more than anything.

Some stuff I just don't get...

Scrimmage yards

McCaffrey 1614
Hill 1557

Total TDs

McCaffrey 17
Hill 12

And the 9ers have a better record.

So remind me again why Hill is the overwhelming betting favorite to win OPY?

Leaving touches out is incredibly disingenuous lol. McCaffrey has 278 and Hill has 102.

A running back isn't going to average 15 yards per carry.

Combining scrimmage yards and TDs is more than fair when comparing a RB to a WR. McCaffrey has about as equal of a shot of winning MVP as Hill does.

No he's not, but his yards being close or greater is expected, he's getting 25 touches a game after all. The thing is while McCaffrey is having a great season, it's not even remotely close to an all-time great RB season, whereas Hill is on track to break the receiving yards record. And the 49ers offense is loaded and as we saw last night the Dolphins offense is kinda poo without Tyreek.

McCaffrey is amazing but the 49ers offense is so explosive with Aiyuk, Samuel, and Kittle that it opens up the running and passing game for him. The 49ers wouldn't be as good without him but they would still be amongst the best teams in the league because their WR's are so good after the catch. Have you seen the Dolphins offense with and without Hill? It's night and day. He's a cheat code. When he exited the game last night they had nothing on offense and then he comes back for one series early in the 4th quarter and catches a 23 yard pass then a 25 yard pass in that series and then he leaves the game after that drive and they don't move the ball again. If he played the whole game last night the Dolphins likely win by multiple scores. He's the most explosive WR I have ever seen. He just can't be covered.

Is the only place to watch that on TSN+ this year? (Probably covered elsewhere and weeks ago, but I don't always watch MNF)

The two guys who make that 49'ers offence go are Trent Williams and Deebo Samuel. CMC has great production, but most teams can get an offence that allows a running back to excel. Jamaal Charles once had a really good season on a 2 win Chiefs team with Brady Quinn and Matt Cassel taking turns sucking on the old arse pipe.

When they were injured the team hit a 3 game skid and their yards per play was way down and the number of turn overs increased.

Similar to when A.J. Brown was with the Titans, having the threat of Samuel benefits the 49'er offence more than any other player save Williams.

If Tyreek misses anytime here, I think Miami has a similar fate.

The NFL record for rushing yards in a season is 1984 Eric Dickerson with 2105 yards in 379 carries. 5.6 yards per carry.

The NFL record for receiving yards in a seson is 2012 Calvin Johnson with 1964 yards in 122 catches. 16.1 yards per catch.

So even though these represent the absolute pinnacle of accomplishment in their respective positions, and are therefore approximately equally impressive... one appears to be almost three times as impressive as the other by your logic.

Comparing yards per carry to yards per catch is just silly IMO.

Good. Michaels has been horrendous this year. It always sounds like he’s annoyed he’s calling the game and speaks in a uniform monotone voice. Plus he likes to defend guys who beat their wives on national tv.

But my point is trying to compare scrimmage yards for two guys who don't play the same position is silly. Tyreek gets 99% of his scrimmage yards as a receiver, McCaffrey is only at 73% of his yards as a runner. Imagine Tyreek was getting 5-7 carries a game on top of his receiving, he'd probably be a few hundred yards ahead of McCaffrey. EE said it, but Tyreek has a very compelling argument as the most explosive, dangerous receiver ever (especially to pregnant women and children). McCaffrey has also already had a better season than this in 2019, when he had 1000 yards running and receiving.

And look, we all know the real reason Tyreek is the overwhelming favorite for OPOY. Despite being the MVP of the league, he's not a QB, so he has no chance at it, and will get the token non-QB MVP award instead. Same as Jefferson last year, and same as every non-QB from here on out. There's not a compelling argument Dak or Purdy are more valuable than Tyreek, but Tyreek has no chance, but he's gotta win something for being the true MVP, so he gets OPOY

FWIW I do have Tyreek over CMC, I just thought it was weird no one was talking about CMC as a potential candidate.

It'll be given to Dak anyway, so any discussion is moot. They've got a hard on for the Cowboys.
