Well at the very least Ohtani owes my employer a day of work.

Ohtani would be right with LeBron and Shaq in terms of biggest star to move as a Free Agent. Baseball has had some marquee guys change teams like A-Rod, Pujols, Manny Ramirez, and Bryce Harper in the last 20 years. But I don't think any of them were in Ohtanis stratosphere. He's the most unique thing to come around in 100 years.

Harper's UFA turn was about as wild as this.

I think it's much more likely that the Sportsnet reporters haven't been told yet than it is the Dodgers reporters are wrong.

I'm wondering if Atkins etc told Shi & BNS to play things down until the team can announce it their own way. As Rogers employees, surely they would comply.

Considering the rumour that the switch from Dodgers to Blue Jays was Dave Roberts holding that boneheaded press chat, I imagine the word from the top was "Shut the #### up and deflect"

Side note, I know currently Roger’s centre doesn’t have irrigation which was a reason they didn’t ever put in real grass. But after this renovation, if they get a good revenue boost, is it possible to reasonably put in irrigation?

More MLB teams seem to be moving to artificial turf these days than the other way around. There are now 5 teams with artificial turf.
