And man....that dressing room looks terrible. Right from Ikea. They can't spend some money on better lighting and better wood?
Am I the only one who thinks the whole having a nice dressing room thing is overblown. There must be something to the players abandoning their images of themselves as celebrity millionaires. They should feel like they are Junior A players fighting for their careers.
For practical purposes, they are building a new stadium. I can't see them putting huge amounts of money into the Saddledome.

It's a great point. The less you make them feel like they've made it at the rink the better. Having golden stalls, elaborate designs and automatic doors probably takes them out of the traditional hockey mindset.
The trenches should feel like the trenches.
In fact, it would be cool if everything about the new arena was modern and expansive except for an old school dressing room.

I don't think it's all about the stalls and where they lace up their skates but the rest of the facilities in and around their dressing room. Basically having their own private gym and spa and "staff lounge" and whatever else they do around the rink.
What is it. Looks like something you'd watch at midnight after smoking some pot in university lol
That is "The Wolfman", a character from a Canadian children's TV show called "The Hilarious House of Frightenstein". All 130 episodes were filmed in 1971/72. I think the entire show would be a good watch while high...lol.
From Wiki: The Wolfman – A werewolf disk jockey at radio station EECH who spun rock and roll records while doing a Wolfman Jack impression. The Wolfman's theme song was Sly and the Family Stone's "I Want to Take You Higher". The segment featured then-current hit singles...with the Wolfman, and the Igor character, dancing in silhouette against a psychedelic background. Due to licensing reasons, the musical numbers are no longer shown on some reruns.

Yeah, when people were freaking out over the Flames' room after the video of Weegar taking the tour went out, I looked up photos of the various dressing rooms around the league.
These were the last three teams to win the Cup at that time...
Spoiler!
And here's last year's champs in glitzy glamourous Las Vegas...
Spoiler!
None of these are massively better than the Flames' room. Tampa and Washington both have low ceilings like the Flames, which isn't something that can really be fixed without rebuilding. Fortunately, the Flames are building a new rink, so the deficiencies will be fixed, but they're not going to do much more to the Saddledome at this point.
It is interesting to see they have made some changes even from last season. Here's a photo from last year...
Spoiler!
They have put wood panelling over the cinder blocks on the walls and replaced the red carpet with black.

#1 for me would be to have proper shower heads. Give me that and the rest is fine.

From all I’ve seen, I like Ryan Huska, and I want people like him to be successful.
Yeah.
The two extremes of the hard nosed coach, and the rah rah guy, are both archaic, IMO. I like the new breed, more cerebral coach, like Jon Cooper.
I am hoping that Huska becomes something like that. And I hope fans give him a chance to grow into the role, and become the coach he can be, before chasing him out the door.
Coaching is like anything else, you get better with time and experience.
