similar age, similar AAV, similar 22-23 numbers, similar dropoff in 23-24 production. Almost a perfect change of scenery deal, although Frost has seemed to pick it up a bit lately.

Farabee would be a great pickup. I’d be fine with a Hanifin trade where Farabee and a high pick came back. But I doubt the Flyers would seriously consider trading him. He’s 23, a former first-rounder, third on the team in scoring, and by some accounts the best forward on the team this season. This is just Torts being Torts. Sanheim was in his doghouse last season and now he’s having a career year.

If you're the Flames, you sneak that one in and hope the Avs don't make it public you tried. It would be highway robbery.

Not sold on Byram at all. There are issues there. I want a more solid long term asset.
Drouin is worth nothing at all.
Any contender should be able to offer up a late 1st, it's weather Conroy will take it.

Future Narrator: There were lineup fillers in those deals.
Either for cap reasons, or reserve list reasons, or roster space reasons, or a combination therein if trades happen there will probably be fillers involved.

Yeah I figured that was lopsided for Colorado. Lindholm and Tanev @ 50%, for Byram and a late first. Horvat brought in a mid first in a top draft, A decent prospect in Raty and Belivieur who was turned into a 5th without any retention.
Tanev and Lindholm with a combined salary of around 4.5m for a playoff run and if they want to resign either I sure both players would be more than open to it.

Lindholm at 50% is worth Byrom and the 32nd OA.

I have done well when there are such divisive opinions both ways. That leads me to believe it's relatively even

I think fans over-rate him, after the WJs. He's a great skater, but soft. He looks fine on COL because they are a powerhouse
And Droin is garbage.

This summer the Athletic had Byram at #17 in its rankings of the best NHL players and prospects under 23 (between William Smith at #16 and Jake Sanderson at #18). You’re not going to get a more solid long-term asset than Byram in a trade. For Lindholm or anyone else on the Flames roster.

Yeah there is lots of risk with Byram.
I think sometimes people just think "He's going to be as good as Makar" and that just isn't the case.
He's been very injury prone, his play has been a bit inconsistent, and while he still has huge upside it's not nearly as clear if he's ever going to hit that.
If they felt they could get Lindholm re-signed at a solid rate then I think that move for the Avs could make a little sense. 1st might be a little too much on top of everything.
