That was done during the early days of the pandemic, I believe, when people were making sourdough and watching Tiger King. A bunch of different things like that were being done by bored celebrities.

Killers of the Flower Moon was incredible. The way it was shot, the acting and the story was all incredible. It was a super depressing film put also so powerful, and I know a lot of people are waiting to watch at home because of its length (3.5 hrs) and I understand that. I would put it up in the top 4-5 Scorsese films easily.
I felt watching in theatres was worth every second. Maybe try one of the VIP theatres.
They are so comfortable and because they're a bit more expensive because of the service provided to your seat before the movie starts, it weeds out the typical teenagers that show up cause its something to do on a weekend.

I'm looking for any recommendations for a specific sub-genre of Survivor movies. I don't know if there is an official name, but I'd call it Scavenger Survivor, or maybe McGyver Survivor. It's where the characters use the resources around them to survive a harrowing experience.
Looking through the Survivor genre, I just get a lot of lost at sea, walking in the mountains type of movies, which dont really scratch the itch.
I'd say that a good example is The Martian, also maybe 127 Hours. Any recommendations?
There is also the sub-sub-genre based on the Most Dangerous Game. My favorites are the released back-to-back Hard Target and Surviving the Game. You might also enjoy the last Riddick movie or Fincher's The Game.

Haha. I was too. But other than us two, I’m not sure who else. Not sure why it took me two years to watch it tho. I live Ridley Scott and I love historical drama. I’m stoked for Napoleon.
Have you seen the Dualists, still my favorite Ridley Scott movie

It's definitely a VIP movie due to its length, but the visuals and sounds are great.
With any scorsese movie, though, the length is an issue. I had no problem with the first 3 hours, but felt the last 30 minutes dragged:
Spoiler!
i would say the prison/trial scenes were not needed and could have been left out. End the movie with the arrests, and keep the old-timey recap at the end.
Just watched and I don't recommend "Weird: the Al Yankovic story" I got excited thinking it was a real biopic, until I started it. I don't understand the high ratings. I get what they were trying to do, it's just too silly imo and I loved Weird Al growing up.

Honestly, if it had been a normal true-to-life film, I would have been disappointed.
I just got around to watching this yesterday.
I hadn't heard anything of it, and was expecting the actual story of his life. Realizing that the guy has never taken himself seriously or been self indulgent at all, of course it was a parody of himself and of biopics in general.
I thought it was great. Well done Al, you got me.

So I finally completed the David Lean trilogy of perfect movies and saw Bridge on the River Kwai. I absolutely adored it, thought it was epic, thought provoking and one of the best war movies ever. You can feel the craftsmanship that went into it and helped shaped the finished product into a masterpiece. Im going to have to find more of his films, he's slowly making his way into my favorite directors discussion.

Saw The Creator. Thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it outperformed its 7.1 IMDB rating easily.
Perhaps not an 8+ movie, but I was surprised. That said, I am a big sci-fi movie/show guy so it is right in my ballpark, and am sad when that category is always filled with comic book stuff when looking for new things to watch.
Give it a shot if you haven't seen it and enjoy the genre!
