This is typical of a player requesting a trade. Your agent tells you play good for the two weeks and he tells you something is close… doesn’t happen and your effort goes to ####…. Any other flames player was guilty of this

Find a way to move him, I know Huby makes way more but I am starting to believe that is the worst contract on the team. I am ok with Dube at his salary now, if he wants a raise he can go too.

Yeah, Z was a fan favourite so a lot of his shortcomings were overlooked…once that trade request goes public, he lost that fan favourite shine and everyone is just hammering him for making the same mistakes he always has.

He’s not a star. He’s a big, physical defenceman who can skate and produce some offense. He makes mistakes.

…we also live in a world where Ben Chiarot returned what he did, so I’m just hoping we manage to capitalize on that sort of insanity. Z’s size and gritfactor hopefully benefits the Flames in a decent way come trade time.

He's had lots of good play this year. Was never our best defenseman, but was playing the best hockey of his career (with still the occasional bad play). Then he opened his mouth, alienated his teammates, and turned his season on its head.

It's too bad, and hopefully he can get it going again soon.

Yeah, if Dube doesn't turn it around, this will be the first season he doesn't improve his scoring totals.

45-50 points is what in line with what you should expect for around $5.8M now.

2 bad goals but it's fine since he made a couple saves? Saves are his job. How about those with no bad ones?

Agreed.

The 3rd goal I have no problem with…but outside of that, yeeeesh. Two bad goals in one game is generally a death sentence in a game…except their goalie did the exact same thing (and was pulled).

The same could be said about some forwards. Ya, happy were getting some goals, but 5 isn't something to write home about.

More like 40-45 points. If that costs almost 6M a year for a winger there is something wrong. Backlund was making less and was a 50-60 point very good two way centre. Let someone else pay him that.
