I think the problems with the PP have been more about execution and finishing. It's been the same thing 5-on-5 for the most part. We just don't have the horses. Blaming Savard is like saying that the Oilers PP coach last season was a genius.

And I’m sure they were planning for Huberdeau to be a large part of the PP, so when he’s not going back to the drawing board.

I’d just have the Kadri line being the first unit. Whoever’s going at the time let them have it and eventually something will come together.

Even if thats true (I don't think it is, I think his PP is complex and takes a lot of thinking and steps that have to go right to get the result he wants), Savard should develop the power play to the horses he does have.
And adjust.
And ditch the black dress shirt.

The zone entries and cycling are markedly worse on the PP than during 5 on 5. This team doesn't have a skill issue with the fundamentals, finishing sure, but I dont think "the players just suck" is a realistic reason for our PP woes.

Arizona has the 5th best powerplay. Seattle and Detroit are 9 and 10. Talent obviously helps but a good powerplay system helps.
