Money is what the Flames were missing for years and are missing again.

A player with the instinct of when and where to arrive in front of the net , his timing and spacing was incredible.

Now combine that with an accurate (not hard) shot , and a calmness to release it properly.

None of this reaching all over and banging it into pads , he would just get to the puck and bang Money !

VERY happy to see him doing well and being healthy

I mean he doesn’t move the needle on this team, today.

Monahan had an exceptional Flames career and yea, definitely “moved the needle” many times during his tenure.

I was JUST gonna say that I bet anything a healthy Monahan would be the perfect center for Huberdeau.

The Mony trade was straight up indefensible and atrocious for this franchise. I haven’t lamented a flames move this much since the Phaneuf trade.
And the worst may be yet to come - that first round draft pick…

It's going to be wild when Montreal gets a second 1st round pick from Monahan at the deadline.

Flames getting jammed on moving Lindholm because Monahan is a better center at the deadline would be an appropriate bookend to the Treliving era.

They signed him as a UFA...trading him this year wouldn't have anything to do with the Flames

They signed him to an extension before he became a UFA.

He wasn't a UFA, he was still a Hab.

Sean Monahan was one of the most notable players who could have become an unrestricted free agent (UFA) on July 1. Teams looking for help down the middle were surely going to pursue him, but now that is not going to occur. The Montreal Canadiens have signed the 28-year-old to a one-year, $1.985 million contract.

Another point tonight for Monny. 12pts in 13 games now (6g, 6a).

An incredible 71.4% on faceoffs tonight. Secondary assist on a 3rd period go-ahead PP goal, but also drove to the net and provided the screen for it go in.

I maintain that Monahan would be a great centre for huberdeau.

Good on him. Hopefully he keeps it up and he can get a team to give him a retirement contract.

I wish he had learned that he needs to take care of his body 10 years earlier than he ended up learning it.

I wish an adult ass training staff didn't put the onus on a kid to know what was best for his health

Highly doubt it, but doesn't take away how happy I am for him. Guy is a warrior and a really good person at the same time. Hope he does it though!
