At the Blues game, there were two guys from st Louis who were going to every NHL arena
They were at 29. Two of the three rinks they were yet to visit were Edmonton and Winnipeg.
Is it my understanding that the Oilers are in such trouble cap-wise, that if players miss time due to injury(not LTIR), the oilers don’t have enough cap space to call anyone up? I believe when McDavid was hurt they had to run 11 F and 7D? That is not good.
They even seem to have tried to circumvent this issue and give themselves forward depth by giving Connor Brown an incentive-based contract so that if he plays 10 games his 3.255 mill goes on the cap next year. Currently he has 0 points and is -5 despite playing half the season on McDavid’s wing.
So is this the oilers doing their best to “go for it”? This was the season where they put it all on the line? They were just hoping to have incredibly luck and no injuries and all of a sudden have secondary scoring, defence, and goaltending?
This is about to get ugly for the Oilers. Next year they’ll be even thinner as they’re already pissing away cap space.
Less than 2 years before Drai’s contract is up and he’s clearly telegraphed that he’s leaving, and McDavid has the option of leaving the year after that. McDavid staying wouldn’t even be the worst thing, because as long as he’s an Oiler they won’t do a proper rebuild and burn this thing down.
This dumpster fire year will be the gift that keeps on giving.
The Flames may be terrible but the Oilers woes are keeping me interested in the season.

Holloway...0 points...maybe he's not the answer?
Janmark...0 points...maybe he's not the answer either? ... now on IR
McLeod...0 points...maybe he's not the next one?
Brown...0 points...maybe he's not the answer either? At least he's heavily overpaid paid like one, like Nurse.
Lane Pederson...not the answer...off to the AHL!
Drake Cagiulla Round 2...not the answer...off to the AHL!
Adam Erne ... 0 points ... the answer? Definitely!

Sure looks like the bottom six of a Stanley Cup contender.

I mean, the entire Sportsnet/HNIC crew says they are, so it must be true. They just beat a struggling Calgary Flames team who didn't even bother to show up, so obviously that means an automatic Cup win for the unstoppable Wonder Twins and their equally elite bottom six.

Don't they more often than not run with 7 day? Or am I miss remembering.

1 point from their bottom six (Ryan assist), or should I say bottom five cause they can't fit six under the cap. $10.45M cap hit
In comparison the Coyotes bottom six has 27 points. $9.35M cap hit.
Calgary, the league's second-last team, has 3 goals and 4 assists from it's bottom three! The Oiler's aggregate point total from their bottom six only exceeds the point total of one Flames forward- Dryden Hunt.
