Allergy to equipment is a great out, you have to admit.

I don't think you can move either one without a similar, long bad contract coming back. The bad part is you can't find any similar length contracts right now, they would've had to be signed a year ago and none of those players have fallen off the cliff like Kadri and Huberdeau.

It reminds me of the Jeff Skinner contract, just a playmaker version of it.
Skinner had some better years more recently.. maybe Huberdeay can do so as well.

The contracts are unmoveable. Or at least virtually unmoveable. Any deal involving them would involve a huge amount of retention (which ownership won’t do) and/or significant draft capital.
They’ll both be Flames until they retire.

Everyone's talked about trading them, and that's likely what happens in the end, but in the meantime, we have to work with what we have to make the more attractive trade targets.
Here's what I would like to try for at least 5 to 10 games.
Mangiapane + Kadri + Dube. They looked great at the start of last season, but couldn't score, most likely because of Mangiapanes hand injury that we didn't know about
Huberdeau + Pelletier + ?. Once Pelletier gets back from injury, and Huberdeau seems to want to mentor him. Maybe those 2 will find chemistry.

Probably. But if someone says they will take one of them if we give them XYZ, you have to consider what XYZ is instead of dogmatically being against it.

XYZ is multiple first round picks. And we aren’t talking about 2-3.
We need to see a better Hubby or teams will assume he us what you see now.

If so then we're stuck with them, so doing nothing is probably the best.
At this point I think most Flames fans assume he is what we see, let alone what other teams think.

Exactly. There could be some comparables in two or three years.

K, at this point it’s as much their problem as the team’s. The absolute worst thing that could be done is throw premium assets at the problem. Adding high draft picks or prospects to move them out. Retaining salary to make it work. Barf.
Bench them. Play them 25 minutes a game. Who cares? They need to figure it out. Or suck away. At some point maybe they’ll retire or get equipment allergies.

Treliving really "Milburyed" this franchise. Hope he does the same to Toronto.

Maybe look at what made these players successful on their previous teams.
Kadri in Colorado
defensive specialist - Kadri - allaround superstar
Huberdeau in Florida
Huberdeau - rough and tumble centre - burner
Coleman - Kadri - Mangiapane
Huberdeau - Dube - Sharangovich
that leave the rest of the team as :
Ruzicka - Lindholm - Coronato
Greer - Backlund - Deuhr
Couldn't be worse.

Are we watching the same Huberdeau? I think a more realistic hope is that he’d drag McDavid down.

We all know that if we move Huberdeau at half cap he will win the Art ross at least once.
Wrong GM. Set up to fail.
Should have brought in a veteran GM who can spot how to get the most valuable asset (Huby) going.
Instead we brought in a fall guy next in line who was/is a fan favourite, who will follow orders of not knowing the word Rebuild and tow that line of making the playoffs until something screams at the owners for a different direction.
Please let us lose the next 10 games straight to keep us out of this path of 24th place overall and my opinion the most uninspired team I've ever had to watch from making the mistake and signing Lindholm and Hanifin and cementing this into an Eight (8) year catastrophe.
